"Hard to START a Trane"
I have a XL 15 for about 4 yrs now. First the fan motor went out but was covered under warranty. The the TXV stopped up and killed my compressor. Two years later leak. And yesterday the varable speed blower motor module went out. Too much money for so many problems. Believe it or not I miss my old nordyne

"XL20i Pumps Up the Jam!"
I've had my XL20i for about 4 years now. I like this brand because it gets the job done. I've never had a problem. The XL20i keeps me toasty in the winter and other than that I never really notice it. I don't think about it except when it kicks in on cold nights and I feel a -- literal -- warm sensation of gratitude from head to toe. There's nothing like coming in from a chilly, wet night and snuggling up in a warm house. I feel fine leaving the house to go out for the day or off for the weekend knowing that my cats will be safe with the heat on. I would definitely buy this brand again. Installation went fine. The guy came, brought the heat pump, set it up and left. No worries. My bills aren't outrageous either. I've read that it has a pretty good energy saving rating too.

"Today I will give you my review of the Trane XL20i heating pump we had installed in our home."
The Trane XL20i is the heating pump that was installed into my home about a year ago and I am very satisfied with the results it is giving us. We had this heating pump installed into out home because my uncle works for this particular company but the results would be the same for anyone who would like to install this heating pump in their home. The heating pump has not given us any problems since we have installed it and we hope to keep it that way, they are very durable and a reliable company, so if something were to happen with the heating pump they would be there to help us repair the heating pump. I would recommend the Trane XL20i to all my family and friends because it is effective and we have not had any trouble with the heating pump as of yet. With proper up keep of the heating pump we hope to get a long life out of the heating pump.

Review:
"totally satisfied with my trane heat pump"
I purchased my Trane heat pump when the older one in my house burned out about four months ago. I got it through the Trane website, and I have absolutely no complaints about the item so far. It has done a great job of keeping my entire house warm and comfortable, and I have definitely noticed a significant drop in my heating bill. I got the "ultra efficiency" version because I wanted to reduce my energy use, and it has certainly lived up to its name! I had a couple guys from Trane come and install it for me, and they were very courteous and helpful and showed me how to set up my temperature preferences before I left. This was a particularly cold winter, and with my old heat pump I always noticed how the temperature had to drop substantially before the heater would turn on; however, with this unit there is no perceivable change. It also does a great job of keeping the humidity under control in my house. I would definitely recommend Trane products to anyone looking to upgrade their heating system.

"Caveat Emptor"
Bad news from the word go. Bad install which had to have many aspects reworked on several service calls. Don't think the wiring would pass code if I had an inspector look at it. Installer/maintainer sent us a bill for the work - needed to be "reminded" we have a 10 yr service contract. Two neighbors across the street both got heat pumps the same time we did, and they too are experiencing endless maintenance calls (and one enormous electric bill due to a malfunction). Can't believe there isn't a class action law suit against Trane.

"Owner / Operator"
I have three 19i Trane heat pumps in my house. I am a Trane dealer and make a living on working on all makes and models of HVACR equipment.I have the liberty to have any unit I chose and I chose Trane because I feel they have the best heat pumps and I dont have time to work on my own equipment. I am a Local 602 contractor for Md and Va. The thing about heat pumps they must be installed properly with correct duct work design. It does not matter who makes the unit it will not work right if it is not installed right. My electric bill is about the same as it was with my last house that was half the size.

"Saving Some"
Replaced 20 year old Trane with a new unit two year ago. The new unit was not the most efficient model Trane had on the market but it was efficient enough to qualify for the federal tax credits and Pennsylvania rebates. We are saving some money, maybe $30 a month. Maybe I should have had back-up propane heat instead of electric.

"Great so far"
Had XL15i both outside and inside units installed last fall. So far working like it should, my bills this winter are half of what they were last year and it has been colder this year. Last year Was running around 400.00 to heat, this year 200.00 big difference. I did purchase extended warranty so labor would be paid after reading some of the reviews. Can not wait to see bills this summer.

"Don't waste your money"
We have a small 1350 sq foot house in eastern New Mexico. 2 bedrooms at the opposite end from the heat-pump weren't getting heat nor air-conditioning, so when we had to replace our old Trane units we were told to get a bigger unit (more expensive). It has made no difference, so we still have electric heaters and fans in these 2 rooms. The heat pump is completely inefficient when the weather drops below 40 degrees. It takes from 45 min. to 4+ hours to increase just 2 degrees on the thermostat. During the 2 weeks of extreme Feb.cold weather, the heater never reached thermostat temps and ran continuously for 2 weeks, and again, we are waiting for the Trane serviceman. We've had to move the portable heater into our living room. We've had this unit for 5 years and have to have the Trane serviceman out in winter after very cold weather has hit!
