The Samsung AQV heat pump series is no longer produced by the company; the most recent user’s manual lists the year of manufacture as 2008. This series features wall-mounted, mini-split air conditioner/heat pumps that have been popular in Europe for some time and are becoming more common in the United States. Both stylish and practical, these particular units are sleekly designed for an aesthetic look and contain coatings and filters designed to remove allergens from the air. The series uses R22 refrigerant, or Freon, which is no longer allowed in the U.S. in new HVAC systems. The heat pump has an energy efficiency rating (EER) of 9.47.
