Payne manufactures two models of central and two package heat pumps systems. All of Payne's heat pumps feature the environmentally friendly R-410 refrigerant. This chlorine-free, EPA approved product is believed to have a minimal harmful impact on the ozone layer and helps each system run efficiently and smoothly.
Payne PH15NB Heat Pumps
As Payne's most energy efficient line of heat pumps, the PH13NA carries the highest Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) at 15 and an 8.2 Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) rating. This model is equipped with a deluxe grille for added coil protection against environmental factors. Additionally, the PH15NB features Payne's Model PF4M fan coil to ensure quiet and efficient air transfer evenly throughout the home.
Payne PH13NA Heat Pumps
Payne's PH13NA heat pump operates with 13 SEER cooling and 7.7 HSPF heating efficiency. This model boasts smooth, quiet operation using the Payne Model PF4M fan coil and vibration-absorbing pads for consistent, quiet operation. A high-efficiency fan motor, durable grill for increased unit protection and corrosion-resistant exterior are added benefits of the PH13NA.
Payne PH3G Package Heat Pumps
The PH3G features ground and rooftop installation, making it Payne's most versatile model. With an insulated cabinet to minimize noise and a 13 SEER and 7.1 HSPF rating, this model is designed for both energy efficiency and quiet function. Additional features of the PH3G include built-in mounts for solid installation, a durable, rust-free foundation, and metal base rails for added stability and easier handling.
Payne PA3Z Package Heat Pumps
With a SEER of 13 and a 7.7 HSPF rating, the PA3Z is Payne's most economical option for energy efficient heating. Its narrow 32 inch design makes this heat pump ideal for small outdoor spaces or zero-lot-line installations. The PA3Z also offers structural durability, improved air quality, and an optional electric heat accessory package.
Care and Maintenance
Payne recommends contacting a properly certified technician for a full inspection of the unit once or twice a year. This inspection should include a full overview of the system's components, electrical wiring, and ensure the unit is functioning properly. Regular service contracts may be available depending on HVAC contractors.
In-between inspections, homeowners should perform regular maintenance by replacing the air filters, removing condensation from the drainage system, clearing debris from the outdoor coils, and protecting the unit surfaces from potentially harmful elements.
Homeowners must register their Payne heat pump within 90 days of installation to receive 10-year warranty coverage on defective materials or workmanship. The warranty only applies to the original owner and is not transferable. Unregistered units have a warranty period of 5 years from the installation date.
