"Maytag Heat Pump was a very good choice"
I purchased a Maytag 16 seer Heat Pump system in the fall of 2010. I had several contractors to my home and received several estimates from them. What I found during this process is that all contractors are not the same! The company that I chose was very thorough and knowledgeable about his products. When I informed the other contractors of my decision to purchase the Maytag system, they all wanted to knock the Maytag system. Well let me tell you, I am completely satisfied with my Maytag system. I have learned from this experience that the choice of contractor is probably just as important, if not more so, than the product. Make sure you are comfortable with the company that you are spending your money with. I am a very happy Maytag Heat Pump owner, and would highly recommend this system!

"Contractor Lacks Intgerity"
As a distributor of Maytag Heating & Air Conditiong equipment with 30 years experience selling many other different brands of equipment in the hvac industry I can attest Maytag is a top quality piece of equipment. Weather you are looking for an ac, Gas Furnace, Heat Pump, Packaged Unit, or oil Furnace they have the best warranty in the market..bar none. The best warranty !!! Maytag does not lack integrity, but many contactors do. Mr. Lanman, a contractor who takes 3 years to find a leak is not one I would ever use. There are so many tools available in the industry to check for leaks. It should be found on the first visit, by a properly trained service technician. Why would they refill the system without first finding and fixing the leak ??? Maytag offers a 12 years parts warranty...why wasn't your coil/or replaced by the contractor Mr. Lanman, if it could not be repaired. Maytag would have provided your contractor a new part at no charge. Sounds like your contractor is pulling the wool over your eyes. Mr. Lanman, your contractor may lack knowledge or intergity, don't you think? I biggest problem our industry faces is not faulty or badly designed equipment, but equipment that is not installed or serviced properly. Improperly installed equipment by improperly trained contractors accounts for 90% of consumer problems but consumers always blame the equipment mannufacturers 1st. Bad contractors cause 90% of the problems Research your contactor and get references from other customers. Get references from his recent customers and customers who had work done several years ago by him. Maytag has the best warranty and support in the industry and they "do right", every time. Often when a contactor doesn't know what they are doing they like blame the equipment and the manufacturers .Highly educated american engineers design this equipment. The question you should be asking is, "is the guy installing or servicing my system properly trained to do so".

"Happy Maytag Customer"
My 16 seer Maytag Heat Pump is the best decision my wife and I have ever made!!!This unit is so quiet we have it located right next to our outdoor deck and can hardly hear it running. The only noise outside my wife and I hear is my neighbors noisy Trane unit. He was also impressed with our Maytag. This has also saved us a ton of money over the last three years we have lived in this house. I would absolutely recommend this equipment to anybody.

"loving it"
I installed this unit in late 2007 replacing a 9 yr old Trane on the Outer Banks. We deal with a alot of corrosion out here and even to much for the spinning fin coils to handle. Replaced condensing coil twice on my Trane due to bad leaks. Installed a 2 1/2 ton maytag which includes stainless steel cabinet which looks pretty sharp. Installer also added zinc on copper lines to help with corrosion. So far not a single problem and very reasonalble utility bills.

"Sweet"
September 2008 my contractor talked me into a 2 1/2 ton 1200 series Maytag heat pump. I has hard up for a Trane but eventhough he was a dealer for Trane he made the Maytag sound just as good for a cheaper price. Nordyne makes Maytag and they have been around for years so i figured i would give it a try. I have a Trane 2 1/2 ton upstairs and we keep both t-stats set at 74 year round. The Trane is a 2006 but a 16 seer. Our Maytag is a 15 seer package unit and burns less electricity than the Trane by about 11 %. We know this because we rent the upstairs out and have seperate meters. I love the Maytag system, efficient and extremely quiet.

"Heat pump and AC upgrade"
Bought it last year 16 seer 4 ton and we have not had any issues. Our electric bill has decreased by about 30% and it came with a 12 year worry free guarantee. I believe our contactor made all the difference because he seem to know the ins and outs of the unit and with all the safety and new specs required on these new systems.
