"Lennox XP21 Expensive But Worth It"
A couple years ago when our first heat pump burned up after almost 18 years of service we went shopping for heat pumps. Electricity rates were going up, so every time we purchased a new appliance for the house efficient energy consumption was always first on our list. We looked at many different heat pump manufactures but came back to Lennox after having had years of trouble free service from our prior unit. We decided on the XP21 model because it had a very high SEER rating of 19.00. The brochure said it would save us a couple hundred dollars off our electric bill. We did notice a reduction in our electric bill over our last unit although am not sure if it is much as they claim. If you plan on staying in your home for 10 years or more, the XP21 makes sense. What I really like about our new heat pump is how much quieter it is than the old model. Lennox insulates their upper end models much better so they do run a lot quieter. Overall we are really happy with this unit and so far it has not required any repairs. We would definitely purchase another Lennox heat pump again

"Quietly efficient"
I just recently moved into my home 1 year ago, and the old heat pump system that was here previous was deplorable. The first thing I asked myself was where I was going to find a new one, what to look for and is it energy efficient, which is important. I was thinking of going to Home Depot to find one, but a friend told me, that she ordered one online that was highly remarkable. I trusted her and ordered a Dave Lennox Signature Collection heat pump. They installed the pump and I was so anxious to see how it worked, would it improve my energy bill and most of all would it be quiet. I'm here to say I am so satisfied with the heat pump that I gave her a box of chocolates! The heat pump is so quiet and so smooth, you can't tell the difference if it's running or off. I was also curious about the darn energy bill, and needless to say my energy bill was cut 40 dollar'S. I thought all those people who were energy nuts, were absolutely crazy to waste money buying energy star product, but they work and help cut down on energy use and well worth the splurge. There is nothing bad to say about this heat pump, only positive. I told all my friends about it, and recommend that they get one also to cut down the cost of their energy bills. I have had it for a little over a year and it's still quiet and cutting down the energy bill. I also still have not had it repaired; it's still ticking and working just like new

"The Lennox Heat Pump Experience"
Well I have owned this specific Lennox Heat Pump or so to say furnace, or air conditioner, for about 2 years and that was the time when I wanted to get rid of it. This specific heat pump, but I'm sure there are other brands that are worse off than this one didn't really function the way it was supposed to. Well first, I will start off with the pros. The main pro from this heat pump was the fact that it served the "name" purpose of the product, it blew hot air which is good for the cold days and also it is a good ranged product for the average consumer. The con of this product I have to say is that it is extremely bad for summer due to the fact it blew "hot" air and also, it costs quite a lot of money to repair. I have spent quite a few dollars replacing the cooling fans on this product due to the fact that the fans would not rotate creating the cold air. I personally sold this brand heat pump and just decided to save money by buying a personal heater and fan so I save on electricity, but also have the portability aspect covered. I personally would not recommend this product, but maybe I had a defective product, but if you're a median ended family than this may be just right for you.

"Dumb Homeowners"
To all the people complaining about Lennox products and about compressers failing and other such things. I hate to tell you but its your fault that you dont do your homework when you hire a company to install your equiptment. The reason that all the compressers go bad is because the fly by companies dont flush the systems or replace the linesets. The 410 systems need to be flushed or the lineset needs to be replaced. Buyer be ware do your home work and hire a company that knows what they are doing.Lennox is a great brand

"Just Junk"
We baught our house in June of 2008. The heat pump was installed in late 07 while the house was vacant. Every year since we got it, it never heated properly in the winter. and Each spring it has had to be serviced to get the system to start up to cool the house. Then this summer, I call the repair people to get it to running again and they tell me that a wire inside it rubbed the copper pipe with the refrigerant in it until the insulation wore off the wire. And when it was naked and sparked it blew a hole in the line of the refrigerant. The thing is, the 5 year parts coverage on it doesn't apply to the refrigerant, the line it runs in or the labor. So basically they built it faulty so that the line and wire would rub, and now they won't cover a thing to fix it. I'm out over $1000.00 The people at lennox completely blew me off and tried to say my repairman was lying. They didn't even appologize for my having to go through this trouble. They have terrible customer service and don't stand by their product. I will never buy a product from them.

"Very Low Quality"
Compressor gave out after less than 5 years. Even though under warranty cost over $800 to install new compressor. Lennox does not cover labor. I would not recommend this brand. Go with Carrier - I have never had a problem with Carrier units.

"A Very Quiet Experience"
I have owned my XP21 heat pump for about a couple of weeks now. I like the fact that it is so quiet compared to the one which I had owned previously. I mean seriously my old one was so loud that it would drive me insane at times. There are not many things that I dislike about this product except maybe just one minor thing which is that when I first got it I had trouble understanding how to use it. Maybe it was just me but, afterwords now I have not problem figuring it out. I have not needed to repair or replace it yet and hope not too for a long time because I just recently got it. I would buy the same again if I had another home or even tell my buddies to give it a try because things in my home are really peaceful now.

"My Review of The Heat pump"
I have owned my heat pump for approximately six months. It has never worked properly for heating purposes at all, especially during the winter months. The unit shuts off or will blow cold air into my home, rather than heat. The only way to heat my home is to use the emergency heat option on the unit which can be very costly. I have had to reset the unit several times in order for it to actually work. I have had several technicians out to my home to look at the unit, and they have had to reset it, or give it a boost in order for it to work. During the spring/summer months, the cooling system works much better. It blows cold air which can cool my home down quickly. I would never buy the same brand of heat pump again, in fact i would prefer not to use a heat pump at all as it is very costly and for a unit that rarely works it is not economical.

"DOA.. Dead On Arrival"
I was excited that our home warranty company was going to finally approve our claim and have our P.O.S., 12 year old Goodman replaced. The contractor doing the install was confident that this was a great replacement because even though this was the entry level unit, it was basic enough that it would be easy to work on and had less parts that could fail. Heat pump was installed on an unseasonably warm day in February where the outside temp was in the low 70's. When the temperature dropped back down to normal levels over the next 2 days, the pump immediately froze over to one completely solid block of ice. There was so much ice that the fan couldn't spin. The contractor found that the compressor was bad on the brand new unit. Since this should have been tested at the factory, a capital F on quality, quality control, and another F on customer service. Evidently, they were not cooperative and it took several weeks of continued calls to the contractor, warranty company, and then finally a threatened legal action to get enough brass to make the right calls to get the parts needed. The parts have not been replaced at this point.

"Junk and they know it!!!"
I moved into my new home in Jan. 04 in april. o7 the compressor went out on my main unit. It cost me $756. for the labor and shipping to get it replaced, remember it was under warranty. On Sept. 24 07 the repalced compressor went out again. There was a 6 month warranty on the replaced compressor that went bad so again it went out under warranty with one week left on the warranty, this time they charged me $500. to install and then later remove a suction line drier. Now 3 years and 7 months later the compressor needs to be replaced again for a 4th time. only I have no warranty left. I have talked to the people at Lennox in the past and they are so rude an arrogant. There are so many complaints they know there product is junk.
