"Junk and they know it!!!"
I moved into my new home in Jan. 04 in april. o7 the compressor went out on my main unit. It cost me $756. for the labor and shipping to get it replaced, remember it was under warranty. On Sept. 24 07 the repalced compressor went out again. There was a 6 month warranty on the replaced compressor that went bad so again it went out under warranty with one week left on the warranty, this time they charged me $500. to install and then later remove a suction line drier. Now 3 years and 7 months later the compressor needs to be replaced again for a 4th time. only I have no warranty left. I have talked to the people at Lennox in the past and they are so rude an arrogant. There are so many complaints they know there product is junk.

"Seriously Defective and Costly Heat Pump"
My Lennox heatpump is less than two years old and still under warranty. It has failed repeatedly, necessitating a string of 8 service calls and parts replacements which have cost me more than $1200 and enough aggravation to last a lifetime. Yes, I am dissatisfied with quality control--the same part was replaced twice. I was told that lots of the valve in question are defective and that all U.S. manfacturers use the same supplier. And, while the repair folk were putting in the replacement valve, the fan stopped working and also had to be replaced. Finally, the HVAC service company (who also sold me this unit) convinced Lennox to replace the whole unit. As bad as this shoddy unit is, the warranty is really worse. You think you're covered. For parts only, however, not for the service technicians to diagnose and treat the problem.

"Bought the cadillac, go the lemmon (I mean Lennox)"
I bought the Signature Series XP-19 5-ton, 2-stage heat pump with propane back-up furnace, ERV, Harmoney III controller. I wanted the cadillac system for my energy-efficient insulated concrete house. The first problem was noise - which I've just gotten used-to. The main thing has been that it won't switch to stage 2 without me going to the furnace and pulling out the sensor. The dealer, a Premier Lennox Dealer, has come out numerous times. I've paid for an additional zone, have 3 zones now, for an additional cost. I've paid them over $25,000 so far for this. Yesterday it went into stage-2 all by itself for the first time, I got excited until I realized the air coming out of the vents is only 67 degrees. It's really hot in here! The dealer's on speed dial so here we go again.

"Lennox sucks...run..."
50 character min? OK Lennox QC is for @#$%. All my problems are simple bad solder joints that if I could not solder and repair I would be screwed. Find a honest HVAC person that will find the REAL prob. not just replace the Whole coil for $3000.00. two years straigh. Vibrations on exit panels are are causing coil ruptures.

"Very Bad Luck with Lennox"
I have owned my home for 12 years. I have replaced the 5 ton Lennox heat pump 3 times. I admit the contractor came through with warranty hardware replacement, but I had to pay the labor two the three times. I hate it. Whatever I have saved in electrical use with a heatpump, I have paid back in repairs 20 times over.

"Lennox XP19 with CBX32MV"
I had a Lennox Signature system installed 18 months ago under the Costco program and am devastated. I used a big part of my retirement savings and bought what I thought was a top of the line system hoping it would outlast me. It's total junk and Lennox wants me to pay time, labor and mileage for them to diagnose it and make repairs in spite of the 10 year warranty. It turns out that the warranty only covers some parts. When I talked to them on the phone they said all of the parts they expect may need to be replaced wouldn't be covered (relays, heating coil in the air handler and a switch) since they're "normal wear". So I have an expensive piece of junk and a company who will manipulate the facts so that the warranty is worthless and I pay everything. My son just had to replace his 6 year old Lennox system too, so it's not just a single case. I hope anyone considering a Lennox system looks twice. My recommendation is to avoid a Lennox.

"heat pump not working"
I have had a lennox heat pump and air handler installed in my home that i have been told are to big for my house. The heat pump has been nothing but a problem since the day it has been installed. When you would most use the heat pump for heating is when I have had all the problems with melting of the insulation on the pipes, the heat pump running forever the room temp dropping anywhere from one to three degrees F. The company that I use have been out to my house many times doing this and doing that and still it is not working the way it should. The pump and air handler are to big and need to be replaced. I can't tell you how many times they have replaced the insulation which melts at 215 F yes that is how hot the line was getting, the reversing valve has been changed the thermostat, outside and inside, vacum test done and system refilled to the point where I have had it. Now that the temp is above 32F it should run ok until next winter when all the troubles will beging again. You buy in good faith pay good money and you get stuck with a sytem that does not workk as a matter of fact it ends up costing you more money because if the heat pum is not work the electric furnace part is. I really wish i had never changed to lennox and that the company that sells them in Ontario had never been to my home. If anyone has any questions feel free to email me

Review:
"XP19 System Failure"
Ft Worth Texas: I too decided that it was time to replace the worn out system in my 20 year home, and purchased two three ton Lennox xp19 systems with matching hardware. After the installation, the contractor has been to my home every month thereafter, and has eventually decided that he doesn't want to support the thing anymore. HOWEVER, reading the instructions guide detailing installation of the unit, and knowing a little about installing and maintaining heat pumps, I found several instances in documentation where the contractor simply did not follow instructions. For example, the XP19 installation guide (document revision 12/09), on page 12 clearly indicates that after brazing lines, nitrogen should be used to flush the lines. This was not done. Worse, the contractor did not evacuate the lines (as detailed on pages 17 and 18) before they charged the unit. Also, throughout the installation guide, there are little notes spread around here-and-there about how "If <this process> is not verified/performed, the compressor will fail in the future." (see page 24). And then add to this that the contractor allowed the lubrication to escape from the condensor unit, too. I saw them do it! And when I asked them if they were going to replace that, they said it was not important. I know the lubricant is important, but I have not been able to find the quote. I think Lennox makes a great product. But I seriously question the competency of the installers. Day loborers (ie illegals) did my installation, so I strongly suspect they were not Lennox certified... Blame the contractor doing the install.

"Don't buy a Lennox"
Purchased a new home in 2003 with a Lennox 5 ton heat pump. Found out today, my sixth major problem with this unit, that my compressor was locked up. This is second time the compressor failed (first time only had it for six months) and I am going to replace it with. Very dissapointed with Lennox and will not have another!!!!
