"Bad product"
Two Lennox 3 ton heat pumps, one on each side of house. Last year, had to replace 5+ year old evap coil. Now, the other unit has a leaking evap coil. This product is super expensive to buy, probably because of all the bells and whistles, but it uses ultra thin copper to improve efficiency at the expense of electrolytic corrosion and leaks of refrigerant. It is, therefore, a piece of junk!

"Review Revised"
This is a revision to an earlier review in March of 2012 which you can peruse if you wish to know the details of the story. I am upgrading my review to Neutral since Lennox finally agreed to replace my entire heat pump (inside coil and outdoor unit) for free. I needed the intervention of the hvac contractor to help me. I still had to pay for labor which cost $2400. I am out almost 4k for a heat pump that should never failed but at least I got a new one. My recommendation is to always buy the extended warranty on heat pumps. The cost of the warranty can easily equal the cost of one repair.

"NEVER BUY A LENNOX"
For 4 years I have been fighting with Lennox. I purchased a new heatpump hvac, in the summer, waited 3 weeks for delivery. Winter came, my bills were over 700/month. Summer came, ac didn't work, waited 3 weeks for parts. Winter...700/month bills, summer, ac didn't work, new unit, again, mild winter 450/month bills, 5/12 ac doesn't work. Draw your own conclusion about my rating. Call customer care...every time 30 minute hold, rude people on the phone...this is customer care.

"10 years and still running very well"
After ten years now with our Lennox model hp21 2 speed I have very few complaints, a fan motor and a capcitor was replaced, which was under warranty so I'm pretty confused by all of the low ratings. We live in az where temps are very extreme and our power bill is 1/2 what neighbors are and the house is always cool. Unit is a little noisy but thats about it as far as complaints. If history is the guide than I'm very pleased with Lennox

"21 year old work horse will be missed"
Our Lennox heat pump just started leaking freon. We will replace it and found out it is 21 years old . We bought the house 6 years ago. It has never given us a day of trouble. It will be sadly missed.

"Broke in under 5 years"
We purchased a house with a 1.5 year old Lennox Signature series heat pump with an oil heat backup. Now, 3 years later (system is 4.5 years old), the factory brazing on the discharge line from the compressor failed and the refrigerant leaked out, which caused the heat pump board to lock out the system. Discharge line was repaired by Lennox authorized dealer and the line failed again within 1 week. They then had to replace the compressor. 1 month later the txv unit on the inside coil has failed, causing the heat pump to stay on defrost mode for 1-2 hours. This system is not reliable and I am expecting more trouble over the years. Perhaps the technicians screwed up in some way causing the txv to fail, but who really knows. I will say though, a factory braze failure should be covered as a manufacturing defect by Lennox, but they essentially were rude and gave me the proverbial "jump in the lake" routine. Customer service is a joke that is for sure, you will be on hold forever and the staff are poorly trained. Based on this experience I will look to go with another company next time around. Lennox may have had a good reputation in the past but I assure you the new corporate management are clueless about how they are ruining the company.

"LENNOX HEAT PUMP IS A "LEMON" - NEVER BUY LENNOX"
I purchased a Lennox xp-15-042 Heat Pump in March 2007. Had 18 Service Calls since installation, not including 2 yearly maintenance service calls. Every January and February (wintertime), this heat pump failed...either low pressure lockout or running continuously. Both problems caused high electric bills due to running on resistance/backup heat. Spent $3800 on electric bills alone due to this heat pump's failure each winter. Unit is a total "lemon." Neither Lennox nor the Attorney General's Office would provide any assistance, resolution, or replacement. Never ever buy a Lennox heat pump. Lennox doesn't stand behind their products and cares even less about their customers.

"Almost done with Lennox"
Glad I found this informative site. I am currently in a very unsatisfied mood with Lennox. Several years ago, it was a furnace issue. Less than six months ago, I had a top of line Lennox heat pump installed. It makes loud frightening noises when it reverses in the heating cycle. Our house is small so the unit should easily heat our home. The dealer replaced the first unit, now the second one is doing the same stuff. The Lennox rep has been here twice. The first time consumer service was terrible. The second time the man was clearly wore out; most likely due to the numerous complaints over the company he had to represent. I am now heating the house in "emergency mode" with oil. The heat pump is off. Oh I forgot to mentioned the second one also blew the fuse. At this point I will never have another heat pump. Now I have to wait.......I Thought I researched well....regretfully I never saw this site sooner........

"Expensive, Poorly Designed, Unreliable"
We installed a high-end, Lennox "Signature Series" hvac system three years ago. The problem with the external component of the system is that it is not designed to operate where there is any moisture present (such as rain, ice, snow, or fog). The components corrode quickly, become pitted, the system does not receive full power, and it stops operating. We've replaced the same relay twice and most recently, the entire control circuit board. That repair lasted about one day. So far we've spent over $10,000 on a system that does not work. We're back to using inexpensive, reliable, electric space heaters that provide radiant heat.

"hp29-030-1p"
We put in Lennox heat pump 10 years ago. The compressor was replaced 5 years ago and now 5 years later we need another new compressor. We are replacing the whole unit with another brand that will hopefully last more than 5 years. We are very unsatisfied with your product and your advertising how reliable they are--Dave Lennox --I wouldn't talk on T.V. any more-- you're a sham.
