"Not Happy"
I purchased a Lennox heat pump 4 years ago - model hp2603615p. It's compressor seized after 4 1/2 years and it's costing me $957 to fix not including the warranty coverage. 10 year warranty on the compressor? That's nice but labor and parts are $957 which are not covered. I called Lennox to complain about the compressor only lasting 4 years and about the cost to fix it. The only response they had for me was to call around to get a cheaper estimate on labor and parts. No more Lennox products in my home.

"LENNOX 15CHPX =JUNK"
I replaced a 21 year old Tempstar 2.5 ton 12seer package unit with a brand new Lennox 2.5 ton 15seer package unit in February 2008. It is less than 2 years old and I already have 7 service calls due to two bad defrost boards, a defrost timer jumper wire removed one control board, one new condenser fan replacement, freon change because they didn't know what else to do and a defrost sensor replaced. I will never own another Lennox product.

"Lots of hype but poor product"
We are currently having a third compressor installed on what was supposed to be the Rolls Royce of heating/cooling solutions. The workmanship and quality of the top of the line Lennox products we bought have been a major disappointment. Look elsewhere for your next heat pump.

The biggest mistake I made when building my house was installing Lennox heat pumps. I have 3 xp15 signature units ($ 18000). I have had numerous service calls. The most recent for a refrigerant leak (unit is less than 3 yrs old). I have replaced the motherboard & compressor before. Hell will freeze over before I purchase another Lennox item of any sort & I will do anything to dissuade anyone from purchasing any Lennox products. Any questions email me.

"XP 15 with lots of problems"
I purchased a "Top of the Line" xp 15 Series unit 2.5 tonnes in August 2007. Since that time, I have had a technician at my home 4 times. Every time the season changes, there is a problem. Have spent almost $1700 on a product that cost me $7000 installed. Consumer affairs in Texas is of no help, if you can stand calling a long distance number and being on wait for 30 minutes. Their "premier service" provider in Montreal called Guaranteed Industries did nothing to champion my cause. It appears from the bills that there are lots of expansion valves being changed and now it is the ambient temperature sensor. All in all a very poor quality.

I can't agree more with the painful reviews on this page. I've owned a 3 ton Elite Series unit for 5 years now and it's been nothing but problems and a financial drain. Failed txv, all refrigerant leaked out, system contaminated. Paid over $1000 in September 2009 to repair. Now the compressor has failed. Probably a complete loss. Wrote Lennox and consumer affairs. Lennox did nothing for me!! Nothing!

"NEVER BUY A LENNOX!!!!!"
I purchased a home built in 2006 and in 2007, a brand new home. The moment we moved in, we started having problems with our Lennox 13hpd Series. In January of '09, we had to have the sensor board replaced, part under warranty but had to pay labor. Then, in March of the same year, we had to have the compressor replaced and defrost sensor once again parts covered not labor. Now, it is January 2010, the compressor motor had to be replaced again and of course had to pay labor. The warranty is for five years. At this rate, we are replacing the compressor twice a year and will soon run out of warranty! Would never buy another Lennox.

"You will not believe this"
I had this new unit put in last September 2009. It has not worked right yet. I have had the service man out three times. I am waiting for a service man to come right now. Good luck with that, right. I have had Lennox heat pumps in my other homes for 23 years and never had any problems with them. I believe that the problem is 99.9% with the people its in. They have no idea what the &^%$#^^ they are doing. I can not believe a company as big and well know as Lennox would let a company, like the one I mistakenly used, have anything to do with installing or servicing their product.

"Lennox XP19 - Satisfied So Far"
Last summer, we replaced a 16 year-old York air conditioner with a Lennox xp19 heat pump. We kept our propane fired Weil-Mclain boiler as supplemental and back up heat and had electric resistance heat installed in the air handler in case the price of propane jumps again. So far, we are very satisfied with the Lennox heat pump. It's too early to run the economics but high temperature in the last 2 days have been in the mid to upper 20s and the heat pump appears to be sufficient to keep up. Propane supplemental heat comes on in the morning when the set back goes off, but isn't generally needed beyond that. We have the air handler set to run in continuous low mode, which seems to keep room temperatures uniform. My wife and I find the house to be more comfortable than last winter but can't put our finger on why. The only change is the heat pump, so it seems to deserve the credit. I have supplemental propane heat locked out if the outdoor temperature is above 30, and am still experimenting with what outdoor temperature to set the heat pump lock out at. Lennox engineering documents indicate that the xp19 has a CoP of 2.9 to 3.0 into the teens, so I'll try to keep it running as long as I can. With a CoP of 3, heating cost should be close to 1/3 of past bills before accounting for supplemental heat. The system's only 6 months old, so time will tell but we're satisfied so far.
