The biggest mistake I made when building my house was installing Lennox heat pumps. I have 3 xp15 signature units ($ 18000). I have had numerous service calls. The most recent for a refrigerant leak (unit is less than 3 yrs old). I have replaced the motherboard & compressor before. Hell will freeze over before I purchase another Lennox item of any sort & I will do anything to dissuade anyone from purchasing any Lennox products. Any questions email me.

I can't agree more with the painful reviews on this page. I've owned a 3 ton Elite Series unit for 5 years now and it's been nothing but problems and a financial drain. Failed txv, all refrigerant leaked out, system contaminated. Paid over $1000 in September 2009 to repair. Now the compressor has failed. Probably a complete loss. Wrote Lennox and consumer affairs. Lennox did nothing for me!! Nothing!

"NEVER BUY A LENNOX!!!!!"
I purchased a home built in 2006 and in 2007, a brand new home. The moment we moved in, we started having problems with our Lennox 13hpd Series. In January of '09, we had to have the sensor board replaced, part under warranty but had to pay labor. Then, in March of the same year, we had to have the compressor replaced and defrost sensor once again parts covered not labor. Now, it is January 2010, the compressor motor had to be replaced again and of course had to pay labor. The warranty is for five years. At this rate, we are replacing the compressor twice a year and will soon run out of warranty! Would never buy another Lennox.

"You will not believe this"
I had this new unit put in last September 2009. It has not worked right yet. I have had the service man out three times. I am waiting for a service man to come right now. Good luck with that, right. I have had Lennox heat pumps in my other homes for 23 years and never had any problems with them. I believe that the problem is 99.9% with the people its in. They have no idea what the &^%$#^^ they are doing. I can not believe a company as big and well know as Lennox would let a company, like the one I mistakenly used, have anything to do with installing or servicing their product.

I bought this house November 07 and the heat pump came with it. Lennox heat pump is nothing but problems. I've had many heat pumps but never had this many problems. Compressor blew on December 15, 09 pump was installed in 2001.

"Stonewalled"
I replaced a 28 year old unit that almost never gave me problems...was loud, but ran very well. I felt like I needed to upgrade. I took the sales rep's advice and replaced my entire system to the tune of $12k. It would take a 100 page book to relate all the problems I have had and the service calls are endless. My power bill is through the roof because the heat pump will not stop running, even when the house is at the temperature set on the thermostat. I cannot get a Lennox rep to call me back. My service company keeps coming, but will not admit that the unit is a dog. I wish I had checked and taken better advice before putting money into this clunker.

The story is not finished yet. It`s just starting. I`m just visiting my family now, and it is warmer in the house than it is outside. They`ve been complaining and calling since they got it. They`ve been waiting three weeks for the service man to come by. He should have been here at least two weeks ago. I`m not promoting other websites, but I really hope people can post their complaints on planetfeedback. It does get results. I`ve used it before with my problems with the Microsoft XBOX. I hope this site does the same, but PF is much bigger. I will post the follow up to this story, we`re calling tomorrow, and I`ll be on Planet Feedback tomorrow too.

I had this unit installed 1 year and 9 months ago. I think it was one of the biggest mistake I have ever made. Some of my problems have been the service I am getting from the company that installed the unit. I have paid to have it cleaned and checked 2 times. I have had 4 service calls on the unit, and it is not running right now. It's Sunday and I am waiting on a call from the service department that I called yesterday. They have been out here the last 2 days and it keeps breaking down soon after they leave. I really think it's the quality of the repair people that are showing up and not the unit. But now I am becoming somewhat un sure. I'm just glad it's not a car that I using to get back and forth to work.

"Nothing but trouble"
I have ahd nothing but problems since I bought a Lennox xp19 Heat Pump and Signature series furnace. Initially the furnace would not provide sufficient heat as only 5kW kicked in and even with the heat pump the house was cold. THis took 1 week to fix. The next spring the heat pump was not functioning properly. Now after 4 years the compressor on the heat pump needs to be replaced. THe compressor is under warranty but the labour is not. $500.00 on a 4 year old sytem that cost $13,000.00. I complained to Lennox and did not get a response until one month later, the day after I complained to the Better Business Bureau. Their response, there is nothing we can do.
