"Just replaced inside fan motor"
I put this 4 ton 10.7 Seer unit in myself (HVAC certified) 7 years ago and was happy with its performance -- lower electric bills than the old unit -- but I put in double pane windows, insulated garage door, and some missing wall insulation too. I may have over-sized it, as it cools quickly but leaves humidity too high in summer; warms nicely in winter -- Tennessee. Fan motor went out last week, bearing broke with internal clattering. Found that it used sleeve (cheap) bearings, not ball or rollers, with no oil holes; dealer said 7 years was about right! New motor $114 from Janitrol distributor. Almost never need the auxilary heat coils. Somewhat noisy outside unit, but acceptable.

"Heat pump installed with home seems Fine with Care"
It seems to me based upon my unit and the people surrounding me that the unit is okay. I think people like the other name brands as it gives them a good feeling, kinda like airport security, what they do makes little difference but the people think they are safer. I have had 2 homes with Goodman/Janitrol units as well as my mother has a Goodman, we have had no problems out of mine, the guy next to me has a Janitrol and it works well, had one repair call in 5 years and I think is was to add some coolant. I live in Florida and we have allot of heat so the A/C runs all the time, a 2400 square foot house costs 250 a month the keep at 72 on average.

"Janitrol Heat Pump"
Replaced the outside fan motor a few years ago, other than that no problems. Having added on to our home is requiring us to replace the old, still working unit because it can't keep up with the extra square footage in 100 degree plus weather.
