"Bad Product"
I have 1500 square feet house and the unit lasted only 7 years with over $2,000 of service issues and freon during that time. Major leaks after the 5 year warranty expired. I will never buy their garbage again. Evaporator coil leaks like crazy right after warranty expires. Bad news units.

"Garbage"
I am a contractor who has been installing this Goodman equipment for some time now. The failure rate on evaporator coils and reversing valves is ridiculous,it has effected my reputation as a contractor. They for some reason have misplaced many extended warranties I have purchased for home owners. Therefore have not paid for many claims I have sent in. My opinion they are a volume dealer and there is no quality in this product. This is cheap equipment for most companies to have high margins on. "Its not always the installation" as most will tell you, we do topnotch installs and still have problems!

"Goodman Heat Pump"
I had the combination ssz14 Heat Pump and gmh95 Gas Furnace installed in December 2009. Both units worked great for about 10 months but then the heat pump stopped working. After about 6 months, a Goodman Factory representative was finally sent and a replacement unit was installed. The replacement heat pump has been working fine since then with the exception of an annoying, persistent, high pitch humming noise coming from the air handler unit every time the heat pump comes on. The factory representative acknowledged the noise exists (and he said it's not the fan) but has done nothing address the problem. I guess it's a Goodman "feature" that I'll have to live with until I can afford to buy another brand.

"Goodman Evaporator Coil Costly Problems"
I just got off the phone with Goodman's customer service and was informed that Goodman will not cover labor or Freon replacement caused by failure of their substandard evaporator coil. The AC technician I had at the time said Goodman was a good company, so I had a brand new unit installed. What a mistake that was! I am an elderly person on limited income so having to layout $475.00 for a repair caused by Goodman's lousy business decisions is very hurtful. Have they no shame? I hope there is a class action lawsuit against them. Goodman may have been good at one time, but now they are BAD NEWS!!!

"Not Good"
I have had two ARUF042 goodman units in 13 years. The first was new with the home in 1998. Started to fail in 2004. The second unit I bought in 2005 and am now replacing them a coil to the tune of $1300. The warranty reads 10 year warranty, but only if you own a specific outside unit, otherwise it is a five year warranty. These units are designed to last just outside the five year warranty. Do yourself a favor and do not buy Goodman.

"leaking evaporator coil"
After only 16 months, freon leaked out and evaporator coil needed to be replaced. The technician said that he owned the same Goodman SSZ140181A* unit and had to replace his evaporator after the same length of time. Neither Goodman nor Lee Air Conditioner covered the labor costs. This is ridiculously poor quality equipment. My original heat pump was Trane and lasted 20 years.

"Faulty within 3 years"
We have had to replace the freon in year 3 and year 4. We were not reimbursed for any of this cost from our warranty. The labor was $350 and the freon was $205.57. I understand there may be some expense, but a unit less than 5 years old should not have these major issues. The company did not respond to an email. The company installed the heat pump, said there were several in our community with the same problem. I would never recommend this Goodman GSH130361A again, with such bad warranty coverage.

"This unit is a piece of junk"
This unit is a piece of junk...it keeps losing freon. The unit I had before this was 20 years old and didn't have any trouble with it.

"Not Happy"
I have two Heat Pumps that are 4 years old. I have had several problems. The current major problem is that the cooling coil is leaking freon on both units! My repair technician says that the coils are covered under warranty and that all that he has installed have had this problem. He has since stopped installing them. The main issue for me is that it's going to cost me $900 labor. I plan to contact the company but based on the reviews, I don't expect them to be very helpful. If they are making defective products, they should pay the labor!

"Lasted 2 years"
System worked great for 2 years. Then the condenser coil had many pin holes in it. "Warranty" covered the part but it cost over $300.00 in labor. My old Trane unit lasted well over 10 years with only manual service. I may have made a bad mistake in switching brands.
