"piece of junk"
As a company we installed Goodman equipment for approx 4 years and we have replaced countless TX valves. We have also had a lot of units blow the cap tube on the reversing valve and dump the refrigerant charge. Also we had one customer's second reverse valve break less than 7 months after it was replaced and Goodman is not being helpful at all. Goodman equipment is junk. We spent more money on warranty work for this product than we ever saved. Don't waste your money on this garbage. we have now been installing 2 other brands over the last 2 to 3 years with minimal issues.

"We have two heat and a/c 2/3 yrs old"
We have two heat and a/c 2/3 yrs old. Repair man here now, was here 4 days ago, and a week ago. Both units have lost total coolant, along with other problems. We know the company repairmen by first name. We are covered by for parts and labor so these people are not trying to make a buck from us. The company owner has this product in his home and has ongoing problems. He no longer sells Goodman. We are trying to get Goodman to replace both but so far no. We are considering replacing with a leading brand that our company is offering at his price free, install on roof , and including crane. Would be interested in legal action if one is started. My husband is 83 years and I'm not far behind. We get hot in Tucson Arizona and need reliable equipment.

"we installed 66 Goodman/ amana units from 2008-2010"
Have replaced at least 50% of evaporator coils, 8 compressor failures, so many thermostatic expansion valves I cannot count....these lead to compressor failures. Our company has never had a compressor failure in any other brand of equipment that we have installed. Goodman is also amana.....they are identical. Their engineers have some issues....mostly related to not knowing how to build a good heat pump. They have some changed some things, however they still apparently have serious issues. I have extensive records that demonstrate this opinion. Any thing made by ICP (Carrier, Bryant, Comfortmaker, etc) is more Reliable in our experience.

"Three Goodman hp failures!!!"
My family purchased three Goodman heat pumps for three homes within about a 2 year period. all three failed between 1 and 2 years of age. One five ton unit and one two ton unit were saved because it was noticed that the units were running full time and not producing adequate heat and subsequently turned off before major damage to the condenser occurred. We hired certified hvac technicians and they discovered that the condenser expansion valve failed. Thousands of dollars later one unit appears to be working and the other (2 ton) is still not producing adequate heat.. No one noticed that the other five ton unit was malfunctioning for perhaps 6 months and by that time the condenser failed, including the compressor. Certified techs discovered that the expansion valve in this unit also failed. Compressor replacement cost more than $2000, not including labor. It is our belief that the condenser expansion valve malfunctioned in all three units!!

"Garbage"
Less than 4 years old and just paid $600 in labor to have it repaired. It still has horrible squeaking noises. Buy something other than Goodman.

"NOTHING BUT TRASH"
Read all the hype and purchased the unit. Worst piece of equipment ever owned. Has been nothing but problems. 5 ton unit and a technicians dream. Have had to pay out, in repairs, as much as the ubit cost and is now down with a locked up compressor. 10 year warranty is worthless. Was led to believe that first 5 years would be parts and labor but they have not paid a cent into the repairs needed. In addition, I have to pay freight both ways for all of the parts. Horrendous company, worthless warranties, and terrible equipment. Self destructs in 3 years. Tough for disabled senior with no income and wondering what to do now. Save your money if thinking of Goodman product purchase.

"REGRETS! REGRETS! WISH I COULD PICK CARRIER"
This unit installed on April 3 2012-today is april 8 2012. It is less than 1 week old and already broke down. got chilly here in east tn turned heat on & worked 1 day - now the outdoor unit runs 2 mins off for 5 then back on over & over. This piece of junk turned on & off 27 times in 1 hour. Oh yeah ,forgot to mention the indoor blower won't blow only outside runs like a thrashing machine. Wish I had my 30 year old carrier back. Stay away from Goodman. They are of the devil!

"Unsatisfied with this unit"
This unit has a 10 year warranty on parts, my contractors have been changing parts since day number one, this is a good unit for contractors, because labor charge to replace parts are high. They have changed out the defrost control three times, Motor run capacitor three times and now in the process of replacing the compressor fan. I’m disappointed with the quality of this unit. Maybe we just don’t have pride in what we make in the USA any more. It’s all about the sell and money.

"A WORTHLESS PRODUCT"
I built a new house 4 years ago and getting close to retirement with the idea of not having any problems so much for that. I have put over 1600.00 in it and still does not work. I have had reversing valves and freon and 4 different contracters and still no heat from my unit . I am extremely dissappointed with goodman and the local contracters that are working on it. I would not recommend this unit or a goodman unit to anyone . the unit is loud and unreliable broke down twice in 4 years this time for 3 months.
