"Stay clear"
Unfortunately, our builder supplied the neighborhood with these heat pumps. Many have had multiple repairs in the last 7-8 years. Some have replaced the unit altogether. Today, once again (6th repair in almost 8 years) I have a service tech out to diagnose yet another issue problem. These heat pumps are so loud, they will actually rattle your home. Avoid if possible.

"Never again"
Have spent entirely too much on this unit. Could have bought two great Tranes for what I've had to have done with this unit. Entire Board, condenser leaks, not igniting correctly, not cycling correctly. Would never buy another.

"Great unit"
This 2.5 ton 13 seer unit has been trouble free for 4 years! I think the reason for most of the dissatisfaction is with the install and follow- up maintenance... these units all use the same basic parts copeland compressors and other name brand components.. the key is proper installation and knowledgeable techs. I believe Goodman has very relaxed sales policies and will sell to any fly by nite outfit that walks thru the door, That is my opinion, and probably their only fault. their units are Good.

"LEMON!!!!!!"
Worst buy ever. Bought ours in 2006 by 2010 we had to replace the blower. Refilled freon many times. By 2012 we were told the blower had to be replaced again. Replaced the unit instead. We had put more in repairs in it than we did in buying it. Don't buy one.

"Don't buy a goodman."
Purchased unit in december 2008, by may of 2009 I was hospitalized because the unit was filling the ducting with water, 2011 the switch went out and now it is 2012 and the unit just stopped working, the repairman said the blower is bad. Wow what a company wish I would have found this website before I bought a goodman.

The unit is now 4 years old and has gone out. The Evaporator coil is leaking. When installed by our local rep here the unit cut off after 3 months service, the drain line was stopped up which caused it to shutdown. When they removed the cover the coil was rusted and I complained about the excessive rust. They told me they would support it for 10 years. No worries they told me. Well now it has gone bad and they gave charged me $215.00 to come out and check it and want another $625.00 to $800.00 labor but the part is covered by warranty, yea right! I didn't get anywhere calling Goodman so don't waste your time. They are even telling me that they never received my registration for the 10 year warranty. This is almost funny. Since they have so many bad reviews I'm sure they didn't get it, if you know what I mean, do yourself a favor do not have one put in. You will be sorry.

"Goodman Heat Pump"
This is the worst experience I've ever had with an air conditioning system. You better buy the extended service warranty. By now, I bet the service guy is making about $5 a visit considering how many times he's been here to service this crap. Once again, the reversing valve is leaking. It's a nightmare! Why me! I think every part that can be replace has been changed on this system. Oh yes, the compressor was changed out last year...or was it the year before last? I can't keep up with all the a/c repairman visit and part repairs...THE WORST...and don't waste you time trying to call Goodman either...over there in Texas...you won't get past the telephone gate keepers! Never Again! Looks like I'll be getting another new reversing valve tomorrow when they come to repair this system again! This will be number 4?...5??? who knows!

"Junk"
The contractor that built my house and my son's house put Goodman heat pumps in both. At 5 1/2 years I was having to put 5 lbs of freon every two months to keep it cooling. I ended up replacing mine about 2 months ago. My son's started the same problem last night and his will be 5 years next month. It seems the same problem occurs over and over with these heat pumps, the freon leaks, no one can be found that is authorized to work on them or get parts for them. I ended up buying an Armstrong this time and love it so far. Never will I buy another Goodman!

"" No known problems""
This is what the company says: "no known problems". When I informed them that both myself and my neighbor had purchased thier unit and both are causing problems. We have had to change the coil and freon twice in less than 4 years with service cost and high cost of freon being our responsibility. I would never buy anything from the company.
