"Goodman / Airflo combo 'mis-matched' system"
We accepted a bid for a completely new Airflo (made by Lennox) heat pump set up, duct work and all, completely new. Our immoral scam artist installer actually installed a Goodman air handler in the basement and an Airflo heat pump outside. Mixing the two brands which immediately voided our warranty from day one. Yep, you guessed it, we have had problems and neither company will pay for repairs. We have been out repair cost and been told that our systems life is greatly reduced because it is working together with another brand that it is not disigned to be working with, Heat pumps are very sensitive, not at all like regular electric furnace/ac units. Anyway, we were not this installer's first victims, there are many. Lennox will no longer sell to him but Goodman will. I will never buy a Goodman product because they will let anyone purchase and install their product. At least Lennox shut him down.

"Goodman Junk"
System needed three compressors in two years. The first year labor was free. The other times it cost me $600-$800 for labor and materials, but the compressor was no charge. Service tech said a bad valve caused the problem. Took three weeks to get the new valve because Goodman did not have it in stock. Stand clear of this junk.

"Goodman?? Bad A/c"
I bought a home 2 years ago with a heat pump that had only seen 3 months of service. It is a Goodman cple 48-1 seer 10. Honestly, I think they guy who installed it, snuck it in under the new seer deadline. However, every 9 1/2 months, the capacitor either opens or explodes. I guess Harold Goodman does not own the company anymore..... Any of you installers out there that like goodman units, can you tell me why the capacitor keeps going bad????

"Goodman Lemon"
We had this unit installed after Hurricane Charley. We started having problems within 5 months. First they replaced the 'out of balance' motor and at 2 yrs and 10 days, we developed a freon leak. The original installer gave us an estimate of $900 to fix it because his 2 yr warranty for labor expired...but the parts would be covered. hello?! We paid $3700 for the unit! We hired someone else to repair it...$400. a freon leak because of copper tubing rubbing from vibrations. We were assured it was fixed. Now a year 1/2 later, guess what! We had another freon leak from copper tubing rubbing...just in a different spot...another $400! Goodman offered to reimburse me $175 for my troubles. seriously!!! I want a new heat pump that isn't a lemon!

We have 2 Goodman units that were installed in a brand new house 1 year ago and they are a piece of junk. The first time we turned them on this Spring, both units had leaked over the winter months and there was not a drop of refrigerant in the units. The valves installed in the units were not back seeded a quarter turn which caused the problem. I would not recommend Goodman units at all.

"Providence Forge"
I replaced my old Goodman Heat Pump with the new model. It makes a horrible loud sound when coming on about every 20 minutes. It is like sleeping with the snooze alarm going off all night long. Goodman sent a technician out who explained that it is working perfectly and perhaps should not have been installed near the house. The more expensive models are quieter but the one I bought does not come with any features to quiet noise I can pay extra and hope these accesories help--No guarantees. I expected a minimum level of quality. This product should only be marketed to the deaf.

"Pitiful customer service"
Units coil failed after only 3 years. They hid behind their pitiful warranty instead of doing the right thing.

For those who are blaming the installers of these Goodman heat pumps, I have this story for you. The Goodman factory representative examined our replacement unit after the new installation. He made some suggestions to the hvac tech which were followed to the letter. The factory rep returned to check on the work and signed off on it. Perfect installation. Done by the book. But,It was extremely noisy inside and out and vibrated the house. Three years of this noise and now it's louder than ever. The blower fan sounds like it's unbalanced and probably needs replacing.

"Worst Ever"
The first year we had it it froze solid due to Goodman's not putting in the defrost wire. In the last three years they have replaced three compressors and three switch valves. We contacted Goodman's and we were told sorry to bad so sad that we have to pay to fix it ourself. We have electric bills over $360 and that is from the leaks that are in our unit. We are looking to get a new one good bye Goodman hello to someone who can build a unit that works.

"I would not have another one"
Bought a new home had a Goodman installed, in 8 years we have had two compressors and two boards. I used to work for an airtime 500 company as a sales rep and I am embarrassed to say I sold these things!
