"Goodman heatpump system 13 seer"
Replaced a 8 year old 2 ton Rheem unit, cooling with 3 ton Goodman when the garage was enclosed. Increased filter return by x2, Tech used copper test equipment and checked super heat. Cooling works good, 70degrees inside with 99 degrees outside and unit cycles. Have 10 kw back up heat, With mild winter in Florida heat works fine,

"Quality of Installers Is The Key"
I had a Goodman 3-1/2 ton, 13 seer unit installed as a replacement about two years ago. The company and the techs that installed it were excellent. Even the owner of the company was part of the installation crew. The Goodman unit has been and is working perfectly. I'm very satisfied, not only with the hardware, but especially with the company and the team that installed it. That's the key to a successful installation and a satisfied customer.

"Only As Good As The Install"
First of all, and am a 11+ year HVAC service tech, Nate certified all that good stuff. I have worked on and installed just about every brand equipment listed on this site. It's true there are a lot of junk out there, all brands have built models that were junk, but it does not make everything they build now, or have built in the past junk. I do not care how good the equipment is, if the installation is poor the performance and reliability will be poor. I have found that 3/4 of the time poor performance and early failure is from the system not being sized correctly, or poor installation. I have a gsh1330 heat pump and 3-speed matching air handler, the only thing I recommend is using a txv metering device, the fixed metering device has poor performance. There is nothing wrong with the "Newer" Goodman equipment, they use Copeland compressors, decent reversing valves, and I have yet to have a leaking coil.

"5.0 ton 16 seer goodman heat pump"
Just replaced my A/C - propane system with a Goodman heat pump. I finished the installation about 2 months ago and can not be happier. Cools great and I've used it for heating for the past 3 weeks and it keeps the house at 70 degrees without using the heat strips. The coldest day I've had so far has been 35 degrees.

"Just installed my first"
Goodman heat pump. a 4 ton 16 seer. It's as quiet as a church mouse. If your system is loud then there must be an installation problem. Had a local Trane dealer put it in and compared it very favorably to Trane. Best warranty in the business, 10 years parts and lifetime compressor. Nobody else in the heat pump business offers this. My company has sold many Goodman heat pumps and has only 1 problem to speak of which was fixed the next day. We do also offer other heat pump brands but push Goodman because we have found them very reliable. I wouldn't risk my reputation on selling people junk. Reputation = Sales

"Like it"
I bought a 2t heat pump, air handler, heat coil. I installed myself to save money. If extensively read and understood the install directions and wiring schemes. All is well. I read all the reviews and my first thought was the installers are crappy and don't understand. Seems like the correct T-stats and settings weren't used etc. Try a White-Rogers if85-277, has all the correct terminals. Motor fan speed in Air Handler can be controlled by dip switches. In the process of installing same in my other home.

"Good ol' Goodman"
Our 3-ton, 10 seer package unit came with the house we bought 11 years ago. Every winter, we wonder if it'll make it one more time. And it always has...until now. The fan for the outside coils is having motor problems. But at this point, I am going to replace it. And I am going to replace it with a Goodman!

"installer"
Folks, I've been installing Goodman equipment for over 20 years and have had good results. Their warranty is great for new homeowners just starting out. My advice to anyone buying a new unit these times is buy as high efficiency a unit as you can afford that contains the new r410a refrigerant and check out your installers previous work. Not everyone with a set of manifold gauges is a trust worthy HVAC tech. The majority of my repair calls consist of fixing up behind someone who just wanted to get the money and run...so buyer beware...

"It's Good, Man"
We had a Train unit before and it couldn't heat or cool the far rooms of the house. Cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The Goodman works very well. So far so good. The Train had a 10 year warranty and the compressor went out at 9 years. They wanted $1500-2000 to put a new compressor in with no warranty. The Goodman was $2500 installed with a 15 year warranty. I'll get back to you in a few years.

"Good unit for a good price"
Bought an existing 12 year old home with 3 zones, all Goodman heat pumps, all running like a top. As a mechanical engineer, I've done the research like some, but I've also been involved with investigating failures. As some have said on this post, most of the failures I have seen over the last 20-years that weren't "bad out of the box" (and anybody can get one of those), were the cause of the installer. I can't count the number of failures I see caused by undersized ductwork or incorrectly installed refrigerant line sets trapping oil, or incorrect refrigerant charges causing unit failures. There are manufacturers installation instructions for a reason. So when these do finally fail, I will replace them with Goodman, with a quality mechanic for a proper installation.
