"2 Stage 19 SEER System"
The process of choosing the right contractor was long and tedious. My wife and I have evaluated (9) quotes for this job (big business, small business, local, and outside the area). We selected L & B Universal, Inc. for this job. The hard work in evaluation quotes paid off as L & B Universal turned to be an excellent choice. At the beginning we thought L & B were the best contract based on value alone (lowest quote), but quickly realized during installation and afterward that we have chosen the best contractor not only based on value alone but also on performance, maintenance, and value. Out Carrier Infinity 2 stage 19 seer heat pump system cost less than $8k ($2k to $3k savings) when compared with the next closest quote (value). Installation went perfect, on time arrival, an army of professionals arrive to prep. the area and watching the team at work left me with the impression that they are true dedicated experienced professionals, and at the end I was surprised that qa and final check list was performed by the company’s owner “Bruce” (performance). Also, we were given two years maintenance and service free of charge and in conjunction with manufacturer warranty we were given three years labor warranty (maintenance & value). I certainly will recommend L & B Universal, Inc. to all my relatives, friends, and co- workers. L & B thanks for a great job, you guys are the best!

"Been great for 20 years"
I hate to part with my current carrier heat pump. It has been in the home for 20 years. In my ten years here I have only replaced a fan motor and capacitor, a total of about $300.00. The air handler doesn’t have problems until some leaks about 4 years ago. Having to add more Freon now. I have put off replacing everything because of the poor reviews. However I think I need it now as I have a good quote.

"Great System, Low Power Bills!"
My Carrier 38YDA036 heat pump has a two stage Bristol compressor with a variable speed blower inside with two separate zones. It's almost 12 years old and I am very pleased with it's performance and need for repair. Only two repairs in 12 years, one was a sensor for the zone panel in about year 3 which was covered by my parts and labor warranty which I purchased through the installer. The other was the outdoor control panel which failed two years out of its 10 year parts and labor warranty. This was about a $600.00 repair but I think that's not bad at all after running for 12 years. If it was a car, I would have had to replace it years ago. With a heating and cooling system, it's all about the installing company and how good they are. If they are detail oriented and follow the factory guidelines you have a great chance of not having problems. I will definitely buy another Carrier heat pump system when it's time.

"8 Years Old, no trouble"
My carrier heat pump came with my new house. I have had it for 8 years and never made one service call. All I've done is replace air-handler filters, put some bleach in the air-handler drain line once a year, and I wrapped some wires in automotive wire loom inside the condenser unit when I was informed by a friend there was a flaw with the wires laying on top of copper tubing that causes the wire insulation to rub off and short circuit. So, you might say that I am very satisfied. Maybe I should knock on wood, I don't know. I should also state that, since I live in Florida, I never run the system in heat-pump mode, no matter how cold it gets outside, which isn't to cold. I use space heaters if I really need some heat. So this may have something to do with the longevity of the unit. I'd love to get another 6 years out of it.

"25HNB9363A003"
Compared to our prior system the Carrier heat pump is so quiet that I've actually looked into the system unit to determine that the unit was actually working. the 19 seer unit is nearly 5' tall and very quiet. Our back deck is within 15' of the unit. We do not need raise our voices when the system is working. Carrier model: 25HNB9363A003

"You should have chosen your contractor better..."
I found the contractor I wanted and then bought the product I wanted. We had a small issue with our Carrier heat pump and they were out same day to resolve. anything you buy has the potential to break, it is the support that matters. You pick that wrong and you have basically screwed yourself.

"Keep your old central A/C as long as possible"
I'm sure people have put 2 + 2 together and figured out that consumer appliances, especially big ticket items like heat pumps, have dramatically fallen in quality since the Bush Crime Syndicate came to power. Not only did Lord Bush and Viceroy Cheney accelerate the offshoring of American industry, they gutted government standards and consumer advocacy programs that once pressured corporations to maintain acceptable levels of quality. The Era of Ralph Nader is over and it shows. The shoddy quality of HVAC stuff over the past 10-12 years is Corporate America's way of flaunting their new immunity to your pathetic complaints! Shoddy quality is also the sign of a weak and dying economy. People can only afford Goodman crap that's installed by gypsy contractors OR, they buy the equipment off the internet, try the DIY approach, and then blame the manufacturer when it fails. THAT is why some of you, with your reliable 20-30 year old heat pumps, are so surprised when the newer Chinese and Mexican junk gives you so much trouble! I've got a 19 year old Carrier that's still running strong. I hope it will last another 10 at least!

"4 Ton Carrier Infinity Running Like a Charm"
I purchased a 4 ton Carrier Infinity heat pump and air handler and it has run flawlessly for two years. The humidity control is outstanding. My average monthly electric bill is running $65.00 a month less on average then when I had a 3.5 ton Trane. The unit does everything but take the trash out on Saturday morning. My neighbor just replaced his 5 year old Trane that has been giving him trouble since it was installed. They found the 7/8" diameter copper tubing was reduced to 5/8" diameter tubing in a very sloppy way and also found a 90 degree large radius fitting that was bent in such a way as to almost close off the tubing. I believe the installation is critical and is the reason for most failures. A competent installer is a must. Maybe even more important then the manufactuer of the unit.

"26 Year Old Heat Pump"
My 26 year old heat pump is having a problem today and since it is such an old unit, I decided I'd better start looking since I am probably on borrowed time. After reading some reviews, I decided to post one of my own. Many times people post a review because they are having a problem. I decided to post one since I never did. The Carrier heat pump was installed in my new home in 1987. It has been great!!! I hope the new units are made as well. I will keep reading reviews of other brands but I cannot say anything negative about Carrier. I will probably go with another if it's time.
