"Excellent Equipment"
Bryant systems are very reliable if your installation company installs and tests it properly. 9 out of 10 service calls on new installations is due to improper installation and a test of the complete systems including airflow.

"38 yo Bryant"
I have a Bryant 4-ton over/under heat pump that was installed in 1973. The unit worked flawlessly for many years, had regular annual maintenance but finally died just before Christmas 2012. I am not fixing it due to lack of oem parts and that it operates around a 6 seer. Looking forward to my new unit being installed later this month.

"Good Bryant Heat Pump"
I had this Heat-pump since I moved here over 18 years ago and still running strong. I'm afraid that most of this units when installed by unprofessionals greedy contractors leads to faulty equipment- I have an hvac certifications from the local college and work for a couple of different companies doing service and installations and this people do not in anyway do a good job. I would not let any company in Ocala Florida do an new install for me except for ACDone rite. I believe this is the company the College instructor owns. I'm going to get another unit but it would be install by me along. I'm going to stay away from Goodman and York. I fixed too many of them to know which ones to stay away from. I would like to buy the same brand I have,-which is made by Carrier. By the way no one has ever work on my ac unit but myself.

"Installer Errors give a real bad name!"
I am a factory authorized dealer, reading many of the reviews on here, sounds more like the installing company created the problems listed more than Bryant themselves! As a factory authorized dealer, I must tell you, after several hundred installs, very, very few problems, and even less complaints. If the installing company were true to the word, most complaints listed would simply dissapear....I Refer to those companies as schmucks, that don't stand behind the warranties. Email me at home- comfort@live.com if you ever have any questions about a Bryant product, no matter where you live. If installed correctly, they are awsome!!!

"Great unit... Would buy another"
I am a bit confused after reading all the reviews posted here. I have a "hybrid" system in my house. Variable speed gas furnace with a 2 stage Bryant heat pump. I have never owned a heat pump before this. Over the last 5 years the heat pump has done a majority of the work (even down into the teens). House is 2,500+ sq ft and I am heating / cooling with a 3.0 ton system. This is the 3rd "comfort" system I have purchased in my 50 years of life. I have owned a Trane and Lennox system the other two times and what I found out is that it is more important of who you deal with as opposed to what the brand is. Most of the time people go with the lowest bidder and then wonder why they have problems. It is wise to pay a little more and then you get what you want and a nice job. I would by another Bryant unit (or Carrier as Bryant is a sister brand of Carrier). Make sure you check out the contractor who is putting it in. The cheapest piece of equipment put in correctly will outlast the best put in poorly.

"Ron"
Unit was installed in home built in 2004. Have had a couple of service calls, one for a leak, another for a fried switch. Other than that, no problems. Moreover, I had the identical Bryan heat pump in a house I owned for 12 years. Again, a couple of service call repair issues, but it was still functioning well when I sold the home in 2004. Overall, my experience has been pretty positive with Bryant. I do have regular preventative maintenance checkups and service done.

"Great system, super quiet"
This unit had been installed one year before we bought the house. It has never had any problems, is extremely quiet outside and electric bills have been very reasonable over the summer and winter.

"Bryant rated #1 over Trane and 100 times better then a Goodman"
To all those negative reviewers on the Bryant systems. It sounds like your issues stemmed from poor installation and not the product or were victims of a shady contractor who told you your systems were bad or damaged them so you would either replace it or pay for parts you really did not need. It is always recommended to go with a factory authorized dealer for the brand you want installed as they have extensive instruction and schooling on the systems. Don't ever be fooled by the fancy adds with empty promises and offering higher then normal rebates or really cheap checkups - they are usually the ones that will sell you something you don't need, condemn a unit before its time and inflat their prices. I have owned a Bryant/Carrier unit over for 16 years never gave me any trouble except for the a contactor replaced (minor part) and just recently upgraded to a 2 stage 16 seer evolution system to take advantage of the tax credit and higher Seer efficiency. I have installed 1000's of bryants over the years with maybe less then 2% having any minor issues (no serious issues like coils or compressor issues)but have had tons of repairs on brands like Goodman (mostly for their evap coils), Gibson, Amana, tempstars. We also install Payne (Made by Carrier/Bryant) and occasional Rheem or Comfortmaker. We installs system we know our customers will be 100% satisfied and have the least amount of issues. We refuse to install Goodman, Gibson, Amana or Heils as they are the worst on the market due to their repair history.

"Happy in Raleigh"
I purchased a new home in Dec 2008 that had 2 Bryant heat pumps with gas back-up. In over 2 years we have had absolutely no problems. Nice quiet operation, keeps temperature balanced through-out home. I never know when it is working unless I put my hand over the vent or go look at the units. We are heating and cooling over 5000 sf for the same cost as our previous 3000 sf house. A good installation is the KEY. Not sure what the future will hold, but it's looking good so far!!

"She finally gave the ghost"
Well 4 years ago I had a wire chafe and it exposed the wire and grounded to the suction pipe which in turn blew all the refrigerant out. Repair the hole, repaired the wire, installed new bi flow dryer and she ran great. Well the end finally came after 17 years she gave the ghost, compressor locked up. Cant complain, other than two defrost boards, 2 capacitors a couple of set of contactor (preventative maintenance) its been a stellar unit. Going to replace the compressor in it. If I get 5 more years out it I have no gripes. Its been up until this point a fairly good unit. If you do the maintenance they will go a very long time. In my case, the compressor plug burnt up and im sure the hole in the line a couple of years ago took allot of life out of the compressor. But I got my monies worth no doubt !
