"Very happy with system"
Very happy with our Amana heat pump. Spent many hours on line reading about all the different systems available. One thing I learned was you can't take the reviews as a major guide line.Every brand has lots of bad reviews. I found that getting someone that knew what they were doing to install the system was a major factor. Check the company out with the BBB. The company that installed the new system was very knowledgable and also was the only company that checked the duct work (very important)to make sure it could handle the system. The Amana heatpump has done a great job keeping our home warm during the coldest December and January we have had in quite a few years. With temps in the teens and twenties the backup has not cut on once except during the defrost cycle. Our old system would have run off the backup most of the time. Don't pay extra money for a popular brand name.

"Very satisfied"
I got my new Amana asz16- 16 seer 5 ton heat pump system. It's only 5 days installed and so far I am very satisfied with its performance. It is very quite outside compared to my neighbors heat pumps. It was professionally installed and they put 2 air returns on the furnace. I have an indoor and outdoor thermostat and the readings are accurate compared to the thermostat of the unit. I put my unit at 70 degree f and it has been performing great. I can't wait to test it's performance during summertime here in Texas. So far I am looking forward to see if there will be a significant cut in my eletric bill. The lifetime warranty on the compressor and the 10 year parts the installer guarantee is quite a plus. so far so good.

"2 ton heat pump, two separate units"
we've had our units for 18 years and both are still working wonderfully. During a heavy wind we had the fan catch on a tubing in the outside unit and it stopped. The technician came and unwound it. Only repair ever.

"So Far So Good..."
We had a new 16 SEER Amana heat pump installed this past spring. It's now September following a VERY hot Georgia summer. We keep our house pretty cool and we've had no problems maintaining 70 degrees F daytime and 66 at night. Daytime Temps have been in the mid 90's most of the summer. So far we're pleased, though these other posts scare me about the future :/

"Great product"
Unit has performed great! It was installed by a highly trained team of installers. My utility bills have gone way down. The warranties are the best in the business. Would recommend to family and friends.

"Amana Heat Pump"
Warning to prospective heat pump buyers: 1) Some folks try to save money buying bootleg Amana equipment over the internet w/o a warranty and then complain bitterly about lack of support when their low-ball installer botches the installation. 2) The Amana brand consists of the regular Amana models, plus a budget selection called Distinctions. The former has top-of-the-line features, the highest heating efficiency ratings, and the best warranty/support in the business, bar none. So please take ultra-negative reviews with a grain of salt because some posters will not tell you which equipment they bought or from whom. My Amana ASZ16 HP + ADV8 furnace were purchased from and installed by an authorized Amana dealer. They have provided excellent service and support. My dual fuel system replaced a 17-year-old gas furnace/AC setup. Total energy consumption (mostly heating) has gone down 45%! I also get outstanding comfort levels since I did the right thing and replaced my old ducts with larger ones able to meet the higher airflow requirements of a 4-ton heat pump. As much as I like the system, any knowledgeable HVAC person will tell you that the key to a good system is NOT the equipment, but rather a proper professional installation. Best of luck to you!

"GREAT UNIT!"
I get a kick out of these reviews... especially the poor ones. I am a Goodman and Amana dealer technician and I 100% believe in the product and their warranty. I believe in them so much I'm pulling out a Carrier (which if you have a 90+ efficient Bryant or Carrier furnace.. your heat exchanger is junk i.e. holes and cracks. Even as early as 3-5 yrs old) Anyways, these are great as are many products if installed correctly by real licensed professionals. We actually offer a 10 year parts and labor!!! Warranty and don't have very many issues at all..Good luck all!!

"Home Owner"
Could not have been more happy with any heat pump as our 15 years and 4 months old Amana. So happy in fact, it went out last night and tomorrow it is being replaced with another -- thats right -- Amana.

"3.5 ton Scroll compressor, good unit"
Still going, amazing heat output, had to check to be sure strips weren't on, they weren't. No problems in 13 years. Coils are corroding, but all manufacturers seem to be using cheap Chinese aluminum now and it doesn't hold up. Love the efficient Scroll compressor, really lowered cooling costs when installed, Tampa, Fl. Have heard the new owners are not as concerned with quality.
