"Leaking Coil"
Had a York furnace and air conditioning unit installed May 2010. First summer all went well. Start of 2011 summer, air conditioning unit would freeze up and shut off. Found out there was a leak in the system. HVAC tech added coolant and back to business for the remainder of year. Start of 2012, everything's fine until came home during hottest part of summer and found water (condensation) pouring down the front of my gas furnace. Called HVAC tech and was told the coil has leak which York is known for having problems with the coil. Added more coolant to finish out summer and had new coil and new air conditioning compressor installed this month (April 2013). Was told parts covered by York under warranty but labor for repairs is on the customer. I paid $6,000 for my new system and here I am covering the labor costs for repairs to be made because of their defective parts. Finally, the housing unit to the air conditioning compressor vibrates when the system shuts off, which all my neighbors get to hear! Nice quiet unit..NOT! Very unsatisfied with this product. Should have researched more instead of taking the word of my HVAC tech that York is a good product.

Outdoor heating and air unit nothing but trouble and only 6 years old. New unit being installed Monday by reputable company, and yes, it will not be a York

"York products are junk"
I replaced my Lennox heater with a York gy9s approximately 6 years ago. From the day I install, it has been a problem. Coldest night of the year, a vacuum valve stuck causing no heat. a year later the blower fan blew apart during a major cold front (2 degree weather for 5 straight days). Part was under warranty but York would not policy adjust the labor. I came home last night to the house at 50 degrees and vibrating. Again, York piece of crap blower blew apart! I had previously contacted York and they were the most arrogant, ignorant, non customer service company that I have ever dealt with. I'm in my 25th year of customer service so my expectation level may be high but to have York basically tell me to pound sand was over the top of crappy customer service. Now that I have to replace this part again tells me that the product is absolute junk and the "fine" folks at York won't stand behind their product. Other reviews criticize the installers but since this is a sealed unit, there is absolutely no way that it is an installer issue. Bottom line, don't piss your money away, stay away from York products.

"worst furnace"
This furnace was installed in 2008. Every heating season we have had no heat 2-4 times. We won't go away in fear the pipes will freeze. Dealer always has an excuse. What a piece of crap. Never buy a York.

"york infinity high efficiency"
This was installed 4 years ago, several thousand dollars. It breaks down on average of 4 times a year, three times in last 6 months, now today again broke down, 14 degrees out. Do we consumers have rights when it comes to a lemon??? York never again.

"Affinity series"
Had this unit installed in April 2008. After reading all these reviews, there seems to be more problems with units from that year. We have had problems with the relay to the thermostat. Had it replaced, had problems with the blower motor, replaced, now it is not working again !!! Hvac repair says it is either the blower motor again or the circuit board, however because they work as a continual entity, both need to be replaced and they are going to trouble shoot it and see if it is just one or the other or both. This unit together with the a/c and all duct work was close to 12g. It has been 4 days and parts are ordered, however Supplier had none available and none could find the circuit board and are waiting part . I was told they went to the manufacturer to have one sent. Bad news to me...none available? Why? Is it a part that is has so frequently needing replacement that there is none available. Why wouldn't anyone have these parts?? The unit is less than 5 years old. and I shouldn't have to pay labor all the time. What happened to companies standing by their products??. Is this York so crappily made that they keep having problems? And for the money that was paid for it, there shouldn't be such problems ... at 90 / hr for tech labor... it is all a ripoff. After this bill I will have paid an extra 1300.00 for all the repairs to it !! what a load of Junk is that? I promise this - never again a york.

"Things keep breaking"
I bought my york furnace 2 1/2 years ago, I had some minor adjustments that the installer took care of. but the install is now out of buisness. Last January the capacitor and limit switch had to be repalaced to the tune of $300+. And now a year later I get up in the morning and the temperature in the house is 51. So I call my hvac guy and several visits later I have to have the low and high pressure switches replaced, which but to the grace of the hvac guy would have been $550. I don,t understand how a furnace that is only 2 1/2 years old should have this many problems.

"residential gas"
Furnace was installed in the summer of 2010. The condensate pan developed a leak in the winter of 2012, causing flooding of the furnace room. The fan broke down a few weeks later and we were without heat for several days during the coldest snap of the end of the year. Parts were covered by the warranty, but labor was not. We paid our HVAC contractor $300 to get the furnace repaired. Obviously, we are very dissatisfied with the product and would neither buy that brand again or recommended it to anyone.
