"garbage"
My new two stage variable york is trash. It sounds like a rocket ship taking off, I can barely get the doors on, and when the guys who put it in turned it on for the first time they said my mother board was bad. I took out a two stage american standard and put in a two stage york....I Was had, and now my perfectly good old furnace is sitting in a garbage dump somewhere.

"Never Ever buy a York"
Put in a new, york gas furnace In December of 2002. It has been nothing but trouble. To be perfectly honest it is a piece of junk. So far we have had to replace the blower motor 3 times. So we are on our 4th blower motor (the original plus the 3 times that we replaced it). The Thermostat had to be replaced, the connector had to be replaced. Finally we had had to replace the main circuit board 2 times. In the 7 years that we have had it, we have had to have someone out to fix something every single time. They (York) know that their product in total junk which is why they either have no warranty or a very short warranty on all of their parts. Over the years we have had several different repairmen come out to fix our furnace and every single one of them says that York is the worst, and that if you want a good one you need to buy either carrier, bryant, trane, or lennox. Finally the customer service department at York is useless. Please do yourself a favor if you are looking to put a furnace or a/c in do not buy a york. You will be sorry.

"Stop: DO NOT BUY York"
Don't even consider York. The product sucks and the customer service sucks even more. They are just bunch of YOYO'S. The furnace started to vibrate badly. I hired a technician to inspect it. He said, the motor and/or fan shaft are defected and that this must have been defected from the manufacturer. After numerous phone calls to Johnson Controls -since they bought York- they told me "you are on your own, we have nothing to do with it". Three grand went down the drain.

"Do Not Buy York Affinity"
I purchased a York Affinity 2-stage furnace from an authorized York dealer in Skokie, il. The unit has never functioned properly. It shuts itself down before bringing my home to temperature. My dealer made more than a dozen trips to my home and never fixed the problems... although he always charged me for the privilege. In 2 years, I have been charged over $1000 in service fees, and my furnace still does not work. After writing a letter to the Better Business Bureau, I received a call from York's midwest sales manager. He agreed the furnace was a lemon and has agreed to replace it, although with a lesser model that doesn't even show up in York's full line furnace brochure. The dealer, however, says he will charge me another $1000 to install it. I am beyond being aggravated with these incompetent rip-off artists. I am contacting an attorney.

"15 years no problems"
I had a Stellar Plus installed when I built the house in 1994 and other than a bad ignitor during initial testing I never did anything more than filters and maintenance. Judging from the number of complaints either I was Lucky or the installer was good. I am building a new house and am again going to install York.

"Cold in California"
The blower stopped working on my York furnace eleven months after it was installed. Installer couldn't fix it without a new pressure switch he said. Two months went by and the part was still unavailable. It finally came in and now two more parts are needed. It is a piece of junk and I'm ready to have it yanked out.

"YORK FURNACES NOT GOOD"
I had a York furnace installed in October 2008 and it blew cold air all the time. I called the company that I bought it from and they came out and finally replaced some parts two months later. When I turned it on again, the furnace blew up. I bought another one from another company and now things are fine.
