"York Affinity"
Last month I had a York (now owned by Johnson Controls) Affinity variable speed furnace installed and it has been a great furnace thus far. The 95-97% efficiency is tremendous and it is far superior to the Rheem it replaced. The variable speed blower/modulating fan allows the heat to be distributed evenly and relatively quietly as the fan is not overworked. The furnace is very quiet, although in the morning when it first goes on after having the thermostat turned to 60 degrees in the night, it is audible, but only for a couple of minutes as the fan is on high. After the temperature set is reached, it is on cruise control, in effect, and is hardly audible as it continually maintains the desired level. The venting is interesting as the carbon monoxide is vented through pvc pipe which is under the house and then discharged through a hole in the wall, while the water is discharged via a small sump pump into the garage sink. The furnace is fine and the noise level is extremely low. The efficiency qualifies for tax credits and it is the best furnace we have owned.

"Great equipment"
This is the 9th York furnace and air conditioner that we have purchased (for our house and rentals), we have yet to be anything but completely satisfied with our purchases. All of our equipment has operated flawlessly. Most of the problems that I have read sounds to me that your installation company is your problem not the equipment. Maintenance people!!! Your equipment has to be maintained.

"York Diamond 90"
I love this furnace! Yes, I paid a little extra for the 90% gas furnace in 1997, but it's performed flawlessly since - not one single maintenance call... only problem was a pesky little mouse that crawled to its doom inside the power vent. I removed the mouse myself. With rising energy costs, I'm sure this York more than paid for itself over the years. Hoping for 15 years of service! :-)

Our York high efficiency furnace is great! It's quiet and has a variable fan and variable flame system to save natural gas. We are very pleased with it.
