"3 ton weather king"
This is absolutely a piece of junk!! Do not waste your time with buying one of these! We have had to replace the compressor 4 times already and it just went out again.. The last one they would not cover under warranty because they said there was a defect in how it was installed... I had a licensed HVAC put and install it. I have 10 grand in this piece of junk... I'm taking it out and buying a different one!! Please stay away from this brand. It literally is a piece of garbage!!

"Total Frustration"
I find Weatherking's review very comical, considering the other reviews and comments. Perhaps he is a better repair man than I have. The gas backup never kicks in. When the outside temperature is above 20 degrees, the heat pump keeps the temperature around 68 degrees. Once below 20 the house temperature drops rapidly with no gas backup. Ackerman Brothers Heating have been out numerous times and can't figure it out. So this morning, the temperature is 58 degrees in our house, besides extremely high electric bills in the cold weather. After reading these reviews, I understand that I have a piece of crap for a furnace. Try a different company to see if anyone can fix this before buying space heaters. My recommendation: avoid Weatherking and Ackerman Brothers

"Ignitor Problems"
Every year, the ignitor has gone bad in this Weather King 80% efficiency furnace. I was told the new ceramic ignitor was better - better than what! Lol! Lucky for me, I have a friend who does this for a living! Yea, he still charges me but not as much as others would. However, this is totally ridiculous every year.

"Ruud and Weatherking both poor"
Perfect timing. 6 months after the warranty expired my Weather King 90+ control board is toast. Costs $300 just for part. Furnace will fire but shuts off on main blower startup. Will start blower for a few seconds with fan on switch. This furnace wasn't even used, but rarely, for two or three years. I have a Ruud 90+ whose circuit board (probably same board) went bad just before warranty expired but still cost $250 for repair. Guess why the warranty is 5 years. . ..

"P.O.S!!!!!"
To be truthful I've only owned this hunk of crap for about 7 hours. Got everything all hooked up made sure all my switches were on followed the "start up procedure" and nothing. No led light's, fan, or spark. I know for sure that I have the 120 coming in so I intend on bringing my multimeter home with me tomorrow to see if the transformer is putting out 24 volts. I even tried the old school twisting of the red and white wires and still nothing. I have a feeling I have either a bad board or a bad transformer. But again I just unwrapped the thing. Shouldn't it work?

"Piece of JUnk"
An absolute piece of junk. Our problems are the same as everyone else who wrote here. On cold days can't get the house over 60 degrees. Constantly shuts itself off and then restarts, causing electric bills through the roof. Leaves you stranded. On the cold days all you can do is keep turning it off and on and pray it will start running again. Repairman after repairman who don't have a clue what's wrong and just keep replacing things. My brother in law visited us recently, he happens to be in the hvac business, as soon as he saw the furance he told us they were an absolute piece of junk. What a complete ripoff. Someone needs to shut Weatherking down. Oh, yeah, and of course (like everyone else) we also have had to replace pumps and circuit board, lol, those were the first to go.

"Weather King Furnace"
To say that I am unsatisfied with this unit is an understatement. This is such a piece of crap. I had it installed at the end of the summer. I have had this worked on since Oct. 2008 I have spent more time trying to get this thing to quit tripping. "High temp switch" The unit was installed with over an inch backward lean. This unit MUST be installed perfectly straight. Secondly I feel we have a problem with the exhaust ducting, however the installer completely changed it. It runs for a 10 minutes at a time then shuts of and resets and runs for 10 minutes again. After about an hour of running it will shut off completely. I am trying to heat the house from 54 degrees and after fiddeling with it all day we get 61 degrees max. This is such a piece of crap. Do not even think of buying one.

"That was Quick"
We have two (2) Weather King 10pjb36a01 units . We built a new home 3 years ago , installed these units on the trust of a very close hvac friend . The compressor is shot on one of the units , and for some reason our electricity bill is $ 500.00 - $ 600.00 a month . These units run constantly ,very noisy and are dying .They are being replaced , new units have been ordered . The bright side to this story is the hvac company is owned by a deacon at the church we attend , so getting rheemed is out of the question . Poor fella may have to eat the units , saying he cannot find new ones . Steer clear of these units , will eat up the electricity and die quickly . Being any other hvac company ,I am sure this would be a night mare . Greg

"weatherking problems"
I am also a HVAC contractor and installed aprox. 300 of these units. Have had call backs on 250 of them. The first problem they have is no loss of charge switch, always trouble with freon leaks and unit running with no freon until it burns the compressor up or blows the capacitor up. Next problem is charge problems if the charge is correct in summer it’s not in the winter, unit becomes very noisy. They have no accumulator. Not the contractors fault!!!!!

Ouch. defective induced draft fan motor drips water down onto burner plate, fills up plate and stops flow of gas. actual rust on burner plate. I take it off, scrape the rust off and replace only to have it do the same thing, couple times a month. dunno how to fix this.
