"Throwing control board bad code"
Our Trane furnace is just over a year old. Top of the line last year. We have replaced the transformer and the board. It is getting power to everything, but it is still showing the control board bad code(a new board was just put on today with a new transformer). What can cause this? Please respond asap as even though its "Spring", we are still getting snow and very low temp. Thank you.

"Trane is not Trane"
Having read many of the reviews here, it has dawned on me most if not all of you all do not know Trane commercial does not manufacture Trane residential HVAC's. They are made by different manufacturers, so you cannot expect Trane commercial quality out of a Trane residential hvac unit. Most of the motors for the major central air and heat brands are made by Tecumseh, not Trane or Lennox or American Standard. It appears most of the homeowners here are expecting Trane commercial hvac quality out of Trane residential units and are astounded when it does not happen. There is a reason....

"good but I also feed duped..."
I also feel duped.....Our Trane furnace was installed in 2003 and has functioned well, with one part needing to be changed at the one year service date, until last spring. Then I was getting no heat, so I called my service provider who told me the fan motor needed to be replaced. He was going to order the part, and assured me it wold be low cost. I turned on the furnace two nights ago - nothing...... back and forth for a couple days has resulted in the information that the original unit has been discontinued by the company and the only replacement available costs $1000.00. Bit of a shock!!! Since these furnaces are supposed to last at least 20 years, it seems strange that a company would discontinue a part for a furnace that is less than half that age.

"Trane furnaces are rated # 19 out of 67?"
I am researching furnaces and central air conditioners. I now have a Lennox furnace and central air since 1982. I've only had one problem with the furnace for the last 29 years, a part was replaced (probably 10 years or more ago) which involved the electronic ignition. Every so often (estimated 2 years) I have to sand the ignition with sand paper which lights the pilot light, otherwise it keeps clicking. The furnace repairman told me to do that so it would light. I see the Trane is rated #1, but is #19 out of 67 furnaces! What are the names of the other 66 furnaces that are said to be ahead of Trane? I noticed there are a lot of negative reviews on all the furnaces! I think I will keep my old Lennox for that reason! Looks like all they make now is junk!

"Clean Effects don't happen"
I have a Clean Effects air cleaner on my Trane furnace and I love the furnace, but the Clean Effects is a lousy unit. We moved five years ago and left an American Standard (Trane) high efficiency furnace and a Honeywell air cleaner with the vertical electrostatic wires; this unit worked great (supposedly 80% effective. At the new house we had a Clean Effects installed because of the greater filtering power 98% or so. We have had nothing but dust and lint in the house since. I will never buy another air cleaner from Trane. We did have the cells replaced under the recall, no difference.

"xc95m"
I plan to replace my 1 year old York single -stage with a Trane xc95 this Spring. Now I am really confused about the Trane from what I read here. My York will only run on the third speed or it overheats . The air noise it causes is too much for us to toletrate so we plan to buy a Trane XC95m which I understand is much quieter and more efficient too. Am I wrong ? I will welcome your feedback. Thanks.

"To respond to your complaints..."
As any of you complaining about this product may know, it is built on an assembly line in a timely manor. The products that are failing are a result in poor vendors quality that Trane puts their name on. I do not work for Trane, or any other brand, but can see a trend in A/C and heating parts in the last 7 years. They are coming out of Mexico and China due to price. I work on all brands all the time, and can say that Trane is the one I have seen the least of. In the complaints given, most seem like they can be avoided with annual maintenance. A dirty ignitor will fail when used. A motor that has a small leak in the bearings will fail. A poorly installed system will have plenty of issues with air loss and efficiency. So spend the time and money to have the system looked at regularly to protect your investment. In final, if your technician doesn't seem to know enough about the product or system, send them on their way and demand another.

"Repeated Service Calls"
Had my trane furnace for 5 years now. During the summers while running the AC, water would leak from the top of the furnace down the front and into the bottom section of the furnace. Over a three year period 8 service calls were required to try to stop the leaking. Fortunately, my area has several trane dealers, so I finally gave up on the dealer I was using and switched to another company, that company was able to fix the problem the first time and the three years of leaking were finally corrected. I've used the current company for two years now and so far so good. Like mentioned by some, many issues mine included have more to do with the people working on them than the product itself. A furnace/ac/humidifier/air cleaner is only as good as the people who work on it and back up that work. Be sure you have more than one dealer in your area.

Just bought a xv95 furnace today. I also bought the warranty which means I have 10 years parts and labor for300.00. I hope I don't have to use this warranty as much as a lot of the folks writing reviews.
