"TRANE JUNK PRODUCT"
I purchased a Trane 10 years ago, after 5 years the motor goes out. HVAC replaced it and it was under warranty. From the first replacement until today every winter for 5 years it would last for two months and then break down. We have had everything replaced. I would not recommend a Trane to anyone. Stay away from this brand name.

"Trane xv90"
Worst furnace in the world, nothing but problems since I had it installed. The only thing that saved me was I got a 10 year parts and labor guarantee. Replaced at least 3 circuit boards not to mention all the other problems, I am so sick of this furnace, now it starts and stops several times before it starts up, very annoying and tonight the exhaust blower is making loud noise. They told me it would be 149.00 to come out plus parts and labor. I Will be checking into replacing this piece of crap soon.

"Designed to Keep Repairmen in Business"
I moved into a home with a Trane xl90 that was installed in 2003. I figured the unit to be relatively young and good for a few years to come. Wrong. First winter we lived there found it blowing cold air. Opened it and found lots of rust, a burned ground wire, and a burned out ignitor. I replaced the burned wire and the ignitor and cleaned out the gunk in the lines that drain condensate. Since then, I have had to replace the ignitor at least once every winter, and it still has a tendency to run even when the flame sputters out at the startup so that I have to go down and throw the breaker to force a restart. The unit was completely unreliable from the very moment its warranty had expired and Trane service and parts are very expensive. When I replace this unit I will not even consider using Trane.

"Ignition issue..."
Ignition issue – furnace 5 years old - 10 year warranty - I had an issue with only two of the six jets firing, so I contacted Trane via the chat, this is what came of it, the first chat is not there, it was short but was disconnected, I asked about tech support, warranty parts and repairing the unit myself after having over a thousand dollars worth of "repairs" already done by their "quality techs" … below is what was said after that… Kris: Good afternoon. Is this your first tiem contactin us? Andy: Hi Kris - lost connection - Kris: No problem. Regarding the warranty information and self installation correct? Andy: Correct... Kris: Ok, unfortunately, It is critical that our products and Original Equipment Manufacturer replacement parts be installed and serviced by licensed, qualified independent Trane dealers who have access to product data, service updates, and distributor training. As a manufacturer, we feel that it is in both our customers' and our best interest to ensure that our product delivers the quality, durability, and comfort we advertise and you expect. Andy: I understand this, but if your "repair people" do nothing but replace parts until it works, where is the value of a "service tech"? Andy: Obviously not being able to diagnose the issue... Kris: I understand. In that circumstance I would contact another dealer for another opinion. Also, these dealers have tech support available to them so they can contact them and get direct support for the units Andy: Parts replacement cost have to be enormous when that is all that is done...why is this tech support not available to customers? - it could save huge amount of replacement part cost because people want it fixed and nothing to gain from it other than a working unit, repair stations (dealers) have to make a living off of it... Andy: I am also told Trane will not cover a service call, only parts...so I have out of pocket for a warranty call along with Trane costs for parts...something is not working here when there is cost coming from two directions... Kris: Our products are heating and air conditioning units. Trane does not sell parts direct, parts and equipment are sold by the regional distributor offices to licensed heating and air conditioning dealers and contractors. Our recommendation is to contact a Trane dealer for service. Kris: Thank you for contacting Trane LIVE chat. Have a great rest of the day Chat Session Ended, Goodbye. (5010) Absolutely blown off, I will never buy or recommend a Trane again…

"Things aren't built the way they used to be!"
Furnaces should last about 20 years so they say now. How about 12 years and then need a complete mother board costing $1200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's more than 25% of what I paid for it. They say "just bad luck, electronics can fail". I say piece of junk! The dealer I talked with says its not uncommon for that part to fail. How about issuing recall replacement parts! What is uncommon is to find an extra $1200 in my bank account!

"A piece of sh--t"
I got a Trane xe80 installed in October of 1998 and to this date have replaced controller floor fan. I regularly change the air filter and that's it. It has broken down so much. We have had repair man here so much he should move in. For 14 years it been look at 17 times. When my Trane does need replacing, I would definitely not get another Trane. I wanted to write this review because it seem trane make sh--t and when I do pull it out I will put it up the ceo rass.

"CHECK my last review"
This is my second review and as of now I have paid twice what the original price was. Just received another $401.25 bill. If I could I would tear it out of my house and set it outside with the lemon sign on it......

"Piece of Junk"
I replace my 40 year old furnace in 1999 with a Trane. While I never had a problem with the old one, I constantly have to repair the Trane. Parts are hard to come by because of their "exclusive" distributorship arrangements. I would never buy another Trane product.

"lemon-lemon"
I purchased a Trane furnance- central air and April air in 2004.. every winter and spring I spend hundreds to maintain this unit. Blind and Sons says I need to have a service call every 6 months to replace filter and check out equipment. This unit has not worked well ever. I had to contact Trane and they put in a new motor board after two years. Blind and sons were going to charge me $800.00. I spent over 5,000.00 in this unit in 2004. Why do I need to spend 440.00 a year to maintain it.as it wont function unless they make a service call. Blind and sons tell me I cannot purchase filters on my own..they need to come out twice a year and charge me 89.00 each for each service call the filters cost 175.00...this is not right. I'm writing to the Attorney General of Ohio.

Review:
"Could have been better"
Furnace has been used through 7 winters. A friend (professional hvac repairman) gave us the sad news that the unit is no longer safe to operate (substantial cracks in heat exchanger). It also has a leak in the coil. The corrosion was caused by a galvanic reaction because of the use of dissimilar metals in contact with each other in a moist environment, brilliant! (I learned not to do that when I was just a wee co-op.) The propane control valve has also corroded to the point of not operating. There were a few other issues. All in all it will cost about the same to replace as repair. We'll be replacing with another brand.
