"PIECE OF JUNK"
Purchased this home in 2009 and were excited in knowing we had a new Trane furnance (2 years old). This is 2 years too old. We have had nothing but problems. As of today, this is the 6th time we have had a repairman out to fix it. This is such a piece of junk. I will never have a Trane furnace in any future homes I own nor would I recommend this brand to anyone.

"XL16I WITH 95 + HEATER"
Had system installed 6 months ago. a/c system worked great, but since it has gotten cold, the heater has broken down about every three weeks. We have gone a total so far with 7 days without heat. The old system was 17 years old. Never had a problem, just wanted to upgrade.

I built a new home in Northern MN. Very cold winters. Wanted to buy the best and was told Trane furnaces were the best and reliable. After my experience, I would disagree. In two years, I had to have my ignitor replaced 2 times. The second time, the furnace was out because a lot of damage to the plumbing in the house. It infuriates me to spend this kind of money for this product and have these kind of problems. This can't be normal. In my other home, I have American Standard. Sorry, I didn't buy another. If anybody else have this problem with Trane quality.

"Trane XR90 not working"
Woke up to 56 degrees and cold air blowing out the vents this morning. Had our Trane xr90 for 6 years. Nothing but problems since. Every single winter, it craps out and stops heating the house and requires maintenance. Everything under warranty so far, so that's good. My fear is in another few years when warranty is up, what happens then? I guess, I will be screwed and just have to pay for parts and maintenance each winter to keep this lemon running. Nothing runs like a Trane - what a joke.

"I Hate This Furnace"
The Trane xr 80 is a complete piece of sh**. Every single year, I have to get something fixed on this thing. I change filters every 30 days, clean the flame sensor every year and maintain it as well as can be expected but every year since it was new something goes wrong and leaves me without heat. Right now for some reason, it has blown the original transformer and 3 weeks later has now blown the second one. Why? Who knows, I will never buy another Trane product, complete and utter garbage. I wish I had got a 300 dollar Janitrol instead, so at least when it started acting up I could blame it on being cheap. STAY away from Trane!

We purchased our Trane in 2003 and have had 3 major service calls, Feb 07 (circuit board), June 08 (AC went) and Dec 09 (motor gone). I would not recommend a Trane to my worst enemy. It is a piece of junk and they should not be allowed to install them in another house. There has to be a law somewhere that protects the consumer from being ripped off like this.

"LEMON !!!"
Trane xl 80 mid efficiency, two stage. Researched the heck out of furnaces and found Trane makes Sears house brand...so sounded great. One week after installation, the mother board went down. No problem, part but not service call covered. Cost :90 bucks. Ten months later, flame sensor misbehaving; service call 90 bucks again. Few more months of summer and the appliance works perfectly! Oh right, no need to turn on cause its summer! Last year, first cold snap...furnace will not ignite beyond initial stage one blow ( 3 minutes) so we call service tech for yet another 90 bucks. April, some cheap made in Mexico wire snaps costing me another 90 buck service call and 20 dollars in parts. Just last night, return from movie to cold house...wife curses...oldest son kicks furnace. I call Trane local rep...no response. I call all Trane service reps...no answer. Inside temp is now 52 degrees; outside temp is 12 degrees. Not very pleased and would suggest Trane should be more responsive to customer inquiries as all my calls have been met with stoney silence. Nice work TRANE. I look forward to telling everyone I know what a poor product you make.
