"Hard to stop a Trane"
Both the furnace and condenser unit work well. The true test was during the recent Aug 07 midwest flood, when both were under water for several hours. I had a service tech come to check them out... they were both fine and continue to run efficiently.

"TRAIN DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCTS"
We have 1o train units at our church. And all 10 of them have the same problem. At the motor where the wires go into it, the wires are being rubbed and cut into because train or Bryant heating left the rubber groment out. We started looking at it and saw that the blower motor was completely burnt to a crisp. It was black it blew the fuse and breaker. Would hate to think if one of the breakers or fuse has failed. I could see if the furnace had this problem but all 10 are cutting into the wires and I wonder how many more are out there are like this, if all 10 of ours are cutting into the wires. We have called the installer and they have contacted Traine and no reply at this time from them. I think this could be a fire hazard. I don’t know for sure but someone could at least call to offer help or at least give a price on repairs. I think their needs to be a recall on the furnace. Customers with children need to have this Traine furnace checked model tux100c960c upflow/horizontal direct or non-direct vent gas furnace like I said I could see 1 out of 10 with this problem but not all 10 and I’m sure their are thousands of them out their. Please if you have this model have checked even if you have to pay for the service no child is worth loosing

Review:
I purchased two Trane HVAC systems. One of the furnaces failed after six hours of operation. One of the AC units failed after 14 months of operation. Both items were covered under warranty but this is far from the premium performance they claim. Their dealer also denied me the offered $1000 rebate for my units. Talking to Trane HQ is a waste of time. They never responded to my complaints. I woudl recommend buying from someone that knows what customer service is.

Review:
We bought our home 7 years ago with XV90 model UY-R9V (with up air flow) high-efficiency furnace and AC indor/outdor units of year 1996. We provided routine maitanance every year. Furnace was never stoped, never had any problem. The key thing in efficiency is the proper installation, and particulary the size and location of the outside inlet and vent terminals (pipes). For the inlet you should use just 6 inch 90 degrees simple elbow (12 inch above the normal expected snow accumulation level). The vent from the wall should go on 90 degrees 12 inch up, and than on 45 degrees elbow shoud go downward with attached pipe 6 inch minimuì. If you have on this side of your house the prevailing windy area in winter, the attached pipe can be longer (10 inch) - to reduce excessive wind pressure and possible nuisance induced Draft Blower Pressure Switch trips.
