"Trane furnace A/C nightmare"
I purchased a furnace/AC package from Trane in 2005, biggest mistake I ever made! Furnace had nearly every part replaced within first 2 years and still had problems! Trane finally came out and removed furnace and replaced with new one and within months problems began again. A/C unit has had the connector replaced 4 times, every single year bugs seem to get into the area and cause the connector to burnout and need replacement, costing me several hundreds of dollars. Trane products are poorly designed, poorly manufactured, the dealers who install their products, at least mine, are unqualified and customer service is non existant. Trane XL90 serial#3481YKW7G model#TUX080RY2W1 Date of Installation:March 2005

""How to Stop a Trane""
This is how you stop a Trane. First of all you have to do is give up your hard earned money to purchase and install a Trane furnace. Yes...it will seem like a smart decision at the time because of their marketing however you will soon learn that all the hype is just that...HYPE! Now to stop the "Trane" all you have to do is wait and it will stop all by itself! In six years of ownership the motor control board has stopped working twice! The repair is over $350. They do not stand behind the warranty they offer up front and they do not know the meaning of customer service. The best thing to do is don't get one in the first place. I am now the proud owner of a $3000 Trane XR90 boat anchor because I refuse to give them anymore money and have it repaired...again. I have however come up with a solution for my predicament. I'm getting a new furnace from a competitor. Save yourself the grief, inconvenience and cost. DO NOT BUY TRANE HVAC EQUIPMENT...PERIOD!

"home owner"
I ca lled the customer service rep when my problems begain and recieved no good answer from anyone. We purchased the unit in 2003 and have had problems ever since. I think with all the service calls I have paid for the furnace twice. 5-10-06 venter motor,9-16-06 pressure switch,4-23-07 flame sensor.5-02-07 same problem,5-09-07 ventor motor again,5-18-07 heater exchange,5-25-07 ventor motor again,10-16-07 ventor motor again,4-22- 12 3 burners,4-23-12 gas valve. This time we got stung for another 480 dollars. With all the service charges of 80 dollars for each service charge I feel we have almost paid for the furnace twice and as far as any help from the customer service dept. they gave us no help at all.

"Don't Buy a Trane"
We purchased a Trane furnace model 4ttx4042a1000a for heating and air conditioning. All was well till 6 years later we had the control panel go out (Trance xu9v). It cost $696.00 to replace. Less than 15 months later the same panel went out again for $743.00. After repeated pleas to the local company in Salt Lake and then with the regional office in Denver, Trane would not even look at my furnace to see what had caused this repeated and expensive failure. I was simply ignored and told that parts were warrantied for 12 months and that's that. Our previous furnace had no problems for 19 years. It was only replaced to accommodate a central air condition system. I am disappointed at the lack of interest and customer service Mr. Stacey Hieb the regional manager and the field representative Ethan Smith in Salt Lake. a company that cannot guarantee a part of almost $800.00 for longer than a year should be completely avoided.

"Very unsatisfied customer"
We bought this trane xv80 model furnace 8 years ago to replace an old Coleman unit that was coming on 30 years. We wanted to get into the higher efficiency units and cut down on heating costs. Within 2 years the flame sensor crapped out. After pleading for mercy the Heating Company replaced it on warranty, if I agreed to their annual maintenance package. Mistake #2, and I'm still waiting to see some relief on heating costs. Now another 4 years later the flame sensor craps out again, on a Sunday morning. To get the Heating Company to come out on a Sunday I have to agree to a $250.00 call out fee. The weather reports have a winter storm for cast for Monday night so what choice do I have. 5 1/2 hours later the service technician shows up and within 10 minutes the furnace is fixed and I am out another $562.00 I think I'm going back to a Coleman!

"POOR QUALITY FURNACE"
We purchased an expensive Trane Natural Gas heater in March 2006. In less than 6 years, the circuit board has gone out 3 times. We asked the dealer to look at it to see if the cause for this recurring failure could be identified. Their only response was to offer to repair it for over $500. We have had it replaced with a less expensive heater that we think will provide better reliability. We also think the new company will provide better service.

"Poor quality"
We've owned our Trane for 5.5 years. The heat exchange has been a problem all along. It's now leaking water worse than ever after a recent tune-up. The dealer wants $1200 to replace a part that's under warranty. I'm now researching new furnaces and decided to write a review.

"Don't buy a Trane"
Bought a Trane last December. My gas usage has increased every month the heater has been running. Don't waste your time listening to the sales pitch about efficiency...this thing is terrible. And, had installation problems...Trane support said to talk to the installer even though they were recommended on Trane's Website and certified.

"LOUSY"
This Trane XV95 unit was purchased 3 or 4 years ago. It had the main board go out within the first year, now it will not run. I paid almost 6000.00 for this thing ??? I guess it's better than putting oil in the old one. But not by much, this was supposed to be top of the line? I don't think I would buy another one.
