"Money Pit"
Mother board went in the first month. Replaced it with warranty. Changed ignitor switch twice. Warranty apparently had expired and I had bought an extended warranty with more money and useless. None of the tech told me if the "problem wasn't fixed by changing it again and if it was likely the motherboard again. No warranty. Called a Trane representative on Tuesday and had to recall again today, Thursday. She hasn't heard anything back from Trane on seeing if I could get some sort of extended warranty. Not looking to go right now. Will I ever buy a Trane again? No no no. No service, no warranty and now I have no money.

"Trane # 1 in my book"
I installed a Trane in my home and also in everyone else's homes I worked in. I am reading these reviews and feel all the negative ones are created not by the maker but by the installers. If you put a great piece of equipment to a crappy duct system, it is going to have problems. The furnaces performance are only as good as the duct system and installers putting it in. So don't take these reviews as gold. I have not had one problem with any of the equipment from Trane and I have installed over 250 units around the Bay area and have had no problems with any of them, none!!!!!!!. So before condemning a Trane, look at the installer!

"Old way vs. New way"
After reading all of the reviews, I could stand prior to installing a Trane. I must say that it seems obvious that 10-20 years ago, Trane made a great product. By the reviews of the newer models, sounds like they are the same junk from China that everything else is. Bummer. Thanks for the input. I won't be installing a Trane.

"Trane high efficiency furnace"
I bought the new Trane with the continuous run fan and I love it. It has not cost me a dime other than the yearly check up ($80.00). It has cut my gas bill down by over $200.00 a month in the winter. I never shut it off. I have my central air on all summer and have never had any problems with it even if it was one of the first of that model installed in my city. Maybe the problems the people are dealing with have something to do with poor maintenance.

"Trane: 20 years"
For the most part, Trane has been a good furnace. We have had ignitor problems twice and a circuit board once. We have only been without heat for a short time because our service people are local and easy to get. I am going to put in a new furnace (heat pump) and I will choose Trane again.

"No Heat from the Trane"
I've had my Trane xv95 for two years, and have had nothing but trouble since week one. Repairman was out only one week after installation. Had to pay $400 in labor, parts were covered though. One year later after it kept blowing cold air every other day, I had another company out to replace the circuit board, another $200 in labor. Now I wake up again to 60 degrees in my house overnight because it's been blowing cold air again, of course the warranty is only good for one year so I have to pay for a new ignitor. Another $500 in parts and labor. What kind of company expects someone to pay $5000 for the furnace and installation and only backs up their product for one year. My Trane furnace is a piece of junk and I tell everyone I know not to get one.

"looking to replace furnace........"
I am in the process of trying to replace my furnace and this is one of two companies that is offered by our provider. I have to say after reading these reviews, I am petrified of this product. I find it quite humorous that contractors are trying to use this excuse of improper installation as to the malfunctioning of these units. It seems to me that the problems people are describing have nothing at all to do with installation and everything to do with faulty parts.

"Trane Xe60"
My Trane has been exemplary. I love my Trane furnace. In the 22 years I have had it, I have had to replace the fan motor twice. The furnace itself has never failed. Not once. The Trane AC unit was replaced after 18 years, but my xe60 keeps on running and running and running. I replaced my Trane AC with a Trane. I plan to replace my now 22 year old Trane furnace with a Trane.

Review:
"Condensing Water Leaks"
Bought a 90% efficient model and it has been trouble since day one. The condensate water first started backing up into the induction fan motor and killed it. New motor and control board cost $400 for labor, but the backup from the p trap into the motor continued. I have to constantly check and drain condensate from the tygon drain line in the furnace and from motor. For last two years, it has had severe and increasing condensate water leakage from within the furnace. About a gallon ever two weeks. Installer has replumed the drains but no improvement. Installer came out again a month ago and replaced the black plastic part that channels the water out of the two heat exchangers through the induction fan motor. That part had obvious severe overtorqing of the mounting screws, cracking it badly, when it was installed at the factory. Now they want me to pay $900 labor to replace the factory installed plastic drain parts mounted on the heat exchangers. Total disassembly and on site rebuild. Never again.
