Trane manufactures oil and gas furnaces that are energy efficient. Four categories of furnaces are included in the Trane product line: XC Communicating, XV Two-Stage, XL Two-Stage, XT Single-Stage, XR Single-Stage, XB Single-Stage, and the Oil Furnace.
Trane XC Communicating Gas Furnaces
The Trane XC95m has the capacity to achieve up to a 95% AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency). A variable speed fan motor delivers a quiet and consistent flow of warm air for both the XC95m and the XC80, which is rated as up to 80% AFUE. With the advanced technology of ComfortLink II, these furnaces connect key components and automatically charge, as well as calibrate performance for optimal heating.
Trane XV Two-Stage Gas Furnaces
Similar to the XC gas furnaces, the Trane XV Two-Stage line features a variable speed motor and energy efficient heating for the following models:
- XV95: rated with up to 96.7% AFUE and Energy Star qualified
- XV90i: rated with up to 93% AFUE and is Energy Star qualified
- XV80i: rated with up to 80% AFUE
- XV80: 80% efficiency
Trane XL Two-Stage Gas Furnaces
Preventing temperature swings, the Trane Two-Stage gas furnaces work to maintain room comfort in the XL90 (rated with a 92%+ AFUE) and the XL80 (performs at 80% efficiency) units.
Trane XT Single-Stage Furnaces
Because of the high-efficiency blower motor, a quiet and comfortable flow of warm air is generated by the XT furnaces from Trane, rated accordingly:
- XT90: 90%+ AFUE
- XT80: rated with up to 80% AFUE
Trane XR Single-Stage Gas Furnaces In an effort to develop a furnace where more of the cost actually goes towards the heating of a home, Trane produces the XR Single-Stage series:
- XR95: 95% AFUE rating and qualifies for the 2009-2010 energy tax credits and Energy Star
- XR90: a 91%+ AFUE rating
- XR80: up to 80% efficiency
Trane also manufactures the single-stage XE90 furnace.

Dependability and efficient heating on a budget are the characteristics of the Trane XB Single-Stage furnaces:
Trane Oil Furnaces
Known for its warmth, an oil furnace is a reliable source of heating. Trane manufactures the XV80 with the combination of a variable-speed fan motor, two stages of energy efficiency, and up to 85% AFUE, while the XP80 offers up to 82.7% efficiency.
Care and Maintenance of Trane Furnaces
Homeowners are advised to have units checked by a Trane Comfort Specialist twice a year.

Specific warranty details are outlined below and on the Trane website, and the protection is valid if the product is registered within 60 days of purchase:
XC95m, XC80, XV95, XV90i, XV80i, XV80, XR95, XV80 Oil: Lifetime Limited Warranty on heat exchanger, 10-Year Limited Warranty on internal functional parts.
XL90, XT90, XR90, XB90, XP80: Lifetime Limited Warranty on heat exchanger, 5-Year Limited Warranty on internal functional parts, 10-Year Functional Parts Limited Warranty on the indoor gas furnace, coil, and thermostat when part of a complete XLi or XR comfort system installation.
XL80, XT80, XR80, XB80: 20-Year Limited Warranty on heat exchanger, 5-Year Limited Warranty on internal functional parts, 10-Year Functional Parts Limited Warranty on the indoor gas furnace, coil, and thermostat when part of a complete XLi or XR comfort system installation.
