My experience with the local (n va) sears was somewhat better than described in the other reviews. As a large firm, they have essentially bureaucratized the experience, and in my case the folks who showed up (for a forced air ac/heating) system were competent and got the job done quickly. I have had a break down every other year, which is about the same as for the older unit that was replaced, although the new unit is more efficient than the last one. I have had sears and other local guys do the repairs, and most are a bit dishonest--recommending more repairs than really needed. The sears guys have been toward the honest end of that spectrum although they are a bit more expensive.
