"Wonderful Furnace"
Two of these units were installed in our new home 15 years ago and they are both fantastic work horses. I had to replaced the igniter in the downstairs unit this year and will be replacing the blower motor in the upstairs unit soon. Total of about $250 in repairs over 15 years is fantastic. Not other maintenance has been done to the units. I will definitely replace them with similar units whenever they finally wear out.

"Great furnace"
Very happy with this furnace. In 16 years have had the ceramic igniter replaced twice, and the circuit board replaced after 12 years. Heats 1 to 2 degrees over therm setting and comes back on 2 below setting. Does a nice job. Guessing that negative experiences due to faulty installation.

"Ruud Furnace Lasts for Years"
I have a ruud furnace in my 2300 square foot house that is nineteen years old. It has a twenty-five year expected life span, and I do expect it will last for another six years. The furnace still runs as well as the day it was new, even in my long, cold Colorado winters. That's pretty amazing, since I don't do any annual maintenance and don't even use filters. I have had a few parts replacement over the years. At about year 16, it stopped working and I had to have the combustion blower replaced. About 2 years later, it stopped working and I had to have the ignition module replaced. After both repairs, it continued to work fine. I didn't like having to pay approximately $1000 for repairs over the life of the furnace, but the value of the repairs, compared with the high replacement cost for a new furnace was worth the cost. I talked with the repair person when I got the last repair done, and he indicated a replacement furnace would run about $4000. I will definitely consider buying a ruud again, when it comes time for this one to go.

"Very Satisfied"
Had my furnace installed by a professional company and couldn't be more pleased with it overall. Great system and cut my gas bill by 25%! I read all the negative reviews and disagree with most of them. If you don't maintain them, they will give you problems, just like a car. Take 20 minutes to read the owners guide and you'll get extended life out of most products you own. I will be replacing my a/c unit this spring with a RUUD product as well.

"Great Furnace"
One of the best furnaces on the market in my opinion. 7 years and not an issue. Just have to be installed properly by a qualified technician.

"Winter Means New Furnace Needed"
Last winter my existing furnace failed which left me with a cold house for the last two months of the season. Luckily, my property is fixed with a functional fireplace which was made use of during this period. However, in order to be prepared for the following season the decision to purchase a new unit was necessary. After browsing the furnace section of a local Home Depot, I came across a Ruud Rheem Zephyr unit which was also on sale. Without hesitation I made the purchase and within the next two days the unit was professionally installed in places of the former one. This particular furnace is much more modern than its predecessor and even comes with a Energy Star qualification which translates into annual savings. This is also one of the things I enjoy most about this furnace and as far as dislikes go, there are none to mention. I can't imagine going with any other company for this application and I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a new furnace.

"Do not buy this crap"
I have had to have this unit repaired no less than 5 times. Now is atleast 6th time. One should think that a new unit would last at least 5 years without breaking down, but this unit failed atleast 4 times the first 5 years. I would never recomend a ruud or a rheem as they are the same products with different name plates.

"RUUD 90 Plus is a Terrible product"
I have two RUUD 90 Plus units installed in a rental property and they both break down nearly every year for the past 14 years that they have been installed. Most times it is an easy fix but they are very temperamental. I am currently replacing the blower motor on one of the units right now and the other one required attention this morning as well. I have had a Weil-McLain installed in my home for nearly 30 years and I have never had a problem.

"Look elsewhere"
Achiever 90 Plus model good for the first couple years, then problematic. Latest issue, we needed a 2-foot rubber drain hose. So what's the big deal?... You must get all parts from an authorized service provider due to "safety risks". Sounds more like protecting service providers income to me - how about you? Anyway, 2-foot hose with service call would have been $100.00 +/- (we substituted with $3.50 hose from Lowes - hope ruud didn't force us into a safety risk situation). Ruud/rheem won't even give you the part number, or provide a parts list!!!! Whatever unit you buy, make sure parts are available over the counter to the owner, or require installer provide a parts list and service manual as part of the installation contract.

"Rudd STUCKS"
I was talked into buying a Rudd furnace by Centerpoint Energy. They installed it, and in the 8 years I have had it, it has broken down and needed repair 8 times. I will never ever buy anything Rudd again in my life.
