"Most of the Complainant's Problems Seem Electrical"
Most of the complainant's problems seem electrical. As a licensed tradesman, I installed my own furnace after an electrician friend installed(and line tested)a new 200 amp service. I then called in the supply company gas inspector who complimented me on the neat installation before I told him I installed it myself following the manufacturer's instructions. It's overdue a good cleaning yet the furnace has run great for over a year now, saving me a bundle. I think those folks having problems may be due to fluctuating power (real bad for microchip circuits)or sloppy contractor installation.

"good furnace"
I bought a Rheem furnace about 6 years ago. After a few years the furnace would start up and then shut down. Called a "reputable" repairman who said my damper motor was bad and replaced it for close to $300. A few years later the same problem occurred. I went on to the internet and postings suggested it was the sensor. I then went on to you tube and someone posted a video on how to fix it. All you do is sand the sensor wire with fine sand paper to remove the carbon deposit. It now works great. Crooked repairman.

"MidWest Success!!!!"
I live in an older home and have always has trouble keeping the entire home a consistent temperature. My Rheem furnace has the 2 stage gas heat and a variable speed blower. I have never felt more comfortable cooling with the Rheem ranl ac unit with the variable speed blower. This is my second Rheem system in my house and the first lasted over 25 years. The installation company was the best and changed some of my ductwork as well. In Indianapolis call Thiele!!! Top Rheem installation company. Great service with the best brand equipment.

"HVAC Service Manager"
I am a hvac service manager of a family owned company. Many customers do not have regular maintenance, and their equipment fails every year. Of course, these are the customers who will whine and cry when the unit fails. You explain to them how important maintenance is, they know it all. If the equipment is sized properly and installed correctly, you should have very few problems, if any. Remember, it is a mechanical piece of equipment, not made to last forever.

"No major problems yet"
I bought my Rheem furnace RGTA-07* in October 2001. Fours years later it had a problem of some times failing to light the burner. A technician came out and replaced the pressure switch which verifies draft. The technician seen a small oil leak from the fan motor. He replaced motor a few days later under warranty. Furnace worked great for about week after his second visit. Then furnace failed to light main burner intermittently. I kept the old switch and it tested good. I knew the root cause wasn't fixed yet. I cleaned out the condensation trap next. Trap was plugged with a black muck. Since then it been working great. I now do all my own furnace work since receiving a degree in facilities maintenance. If anybody replaces a lot of parts all I can say is find a new service company. Your being ripped off.

"How about a little heat"
This house was built from the ground up item in it was not selected by us......the builder had everything under control. Our furnace is quiet and the vents are long by the door and under the windows....I have never been able to understand their logic. Why put heat or air under a drafty window. So far I haven't found any negative about this except when we turn it on in the winter it blows directly on me. I sit under the computer but there's a guard on the vent so it won't blow directly on me. Yes I would purchase this name brand again, if the stores sell it. You never now where they purchased it from, they might have gotten it from out-of-state. If it did come from out-of-state No I would not try to find it. No repairs thank God for that. My husband changes the filter every month on the heater and they are not dirty...I don't see why he cannot wash them, lay them outside and let them dry and reuse them. It's a man's thing I suppose. When my mother stayed with us in the winter she would tell us that her room wasn't warm enough, well she was 91 and I do know they stay cold. We put a small electric heater in her room, plus the heat from the furnace then her room was too hot but she loved it. The hotter the better.

"Rheems are the greatest!"
I bought the Rheem furnace shortly after getting the Rheem tankless hot water heater. I was so happy with the name, that when it was time to replace the old furnace, a Rheem it was. I find it to be very efficient and fits our needs the best. I ended up getting a great deal on it too since I had gotten the water heater from the same place. I would recommend Rheem to anyone!!

"high efficiency"
3 years ago I replaced a 25 year old unit with 82% efficiency with a Rheem. LP bills went down so much I had to get smaller tanks to keep the propane people happy. The unit runs clean. No trouble. The fan is more powerful that the one in the old system and is single speed so I didn't expect it would be quiet. It does warm the house right up. So far so good. I agree that the quality of the installer makes a huge difference.
