"Ian King Furnace Review"
I have had this furnace in my home since we moved into it in 1998. What I like about the furnace is that even though it is an older model, it was definitely built to last as I have not had a single problem with it in the whole 13 years of living in my home. It keeps my home very warm. I dislike the fact that we use more gas than newer furnace models do with it being older, but even that isn't so bad because I know a newer model wouldn't last nearly as long without giving me problems. As I stated above, it has never needed to be repaired or replaced. I would definitely recommend this furnace to anyone who was shopping for furnaces, but with it being an older model, I don't know how lucky they would be in acquiring one. However, I am very satisfied with mine and if given the chance I would buy again.

"900 sq ft home heated in 7 minutes!"
I noticed that there are two sides to all the reviews, half say they are lousy, which many of them was an easy sensor to clean and complained about noise! The other half which I belong to, cleaned the sensor about once every 3 years on avg, and for me, I know the noise of the fan blower is good, it means hot air is flowing baby! If you buy anything but a Rheem, you will feel like you got reemed.

"Mid-E and High-E = apples and oranges"
In Canada, you cannot purchase a mid efficiency furnace. Our old Rheem lasted 16 years before the board went. I decided to change it out, get a high efficiency unit, with a CD motor, variable output, stainless exchanger. Big big difference in quietness. As DC motors eat far less energy and run cooler than the AC in my old single-stage mid, it should be much better than the older designs. We shall see!

"Good with proper maintenance"
I have citerion for 15 years. The first time, I had problem after 5 yrs using; I called for service. It cost me $160 to replaced ignitor. Next time, I knew the problem when it happened again; I bought a new ignitor and changed it myself. I saved $110. I learnt and know how the gas furnace works. When the motor quit. I changed it myself. I am happy to repair things I own. Here is my advice: Learn to fix things you own from on-line, books borrow from libraries. It 's not for fun but for survival. I own rental properties. I called contractors for estimate to replace an electrical furnace. Prices change dramatically from $2800. to $900. What the hell is that! Please don't tell me: You get what you pay for. It's rediculous. The installer want to scare you; So you have to pay more. Most hvac owners have employees installing or do manual works. Most employees just work for a living. They just do the job. You have to look and do your own inspection. I know how the furnace works. I know the parts and where to buy them and I know how to replace them. So I go with $900. Reehm electrical furnace. I will see how long it last; How much it costs me to own and use this Rheem unit. I check and maintenance it myself.
