"S. Dietrich"
I have never liked this furnace, we were told it is very efficient. All I can say it runs an awful lot,it comes on for about 30 sec. and turns off then on again for a few minutes, then off, it is very annoying, and my house is cold all winter even when I have it set on 72 degrees. The air coming from the registers is cool, and I can't see how that would every make your house comfortable. The motor won't shut off a lot of times, so we have to hit it on the side to make it shut off or come on. I tried to get a replacement motor, but was told we have to go through a licensed contractor to get one. My sons are perfectly able to install a new motor. So I guess I will have to put out a bundle of money to replace it. Never will by another Olsen.

"olsen mid efficeny furnace"
This was an upgrade during the building of our house in 1991. Problems have occurred almost yearly since the warrantee ended. Have had to replace the exhaust blower motor, control module and numerous ignitors. Every repairman has told me these furnaces are poorly made and nothing but trouble. Never had a problem once in 15 years with the furnace in our old house. Next furnace will not be an Olsen.

"Olsen mid efficiency oil furnance"
This mid-range, furnace installed in 2004. So far we have had no problems. heating costs until this year for our smallish 4 bedroom house, brick approx $1200- 1400. per year. This year we may expect it to be $ 1800. I think that’s about as good as it gets.

Problems started before we even moved into our newly built home 7 years ago and still have not made it through one winter without needing several repair. I'm tired of the multiple times we've loss heat when we needed it most and I can't wait till the heap of junk is outta here! Never will buy anything Olsen again. This was supposed to be a high efficient furnace; what a crock! If I had known how much money I'd end up putting into this thing, I'd have tossed it at the start.

"Airco 8300 Turbo"
This furnace put in when the house was built. Not one problem of any kind, just runs and runs. Only thing I have ever had to do is change the air filter once in a while. Wish the car was a Airco/Olsen.

Great furnace! Highly efficient, saves money and very quiet...can't believe the difference in warmth and comfort this furnace has made! Nice to know that Canada is still making high quality products, rather than buying from a company who just sells offshore products under "their" name.

We purchased an Olsen mid efficiency furnace approx. 10 years ago and for the first one or two years it worked fine. Since then, we have had to put approx. $600.00 to $700.00 yearly into it, in repairs. I have talked to a number of heating contractors here and they have all told ne that these furnaces are one of the worst on the market. If we would have known this before, we would never have purchased this furnace and be assured that we will never ever buy another Olsen product or recommend them to anyone.

This combination wood-oil furnace has just been inspected and given a clean bill of health. Service technician etimated at least another ten years of life left in unit. I burn 90% white birch split in half, most bark removed. During cold snaps (minus 20 or colder) maple is used for night wood. The heat exchanger and breeching are cleaned monthly. Chimney (tile lined) as required. The unit has been trouble free except for replacement of blower motor.

We built a brand new home in 1994 and had an Airco furnace installed (Not our choice, but the builder's, who assured us it was a great furnace). Nothing but problems with it for 12 years. I cannot even rememeber how many times we've lost heat due to some mechanical problems with this unit. Piece of junk. Airco has ignored our letters and complaints, don't doubt you will too.
