" RE: Winnipeg Supply/ Furnace Experts over charge"
My previous complaint was not about Lennox furnaces per se, but rather about how service companies know they have you at their mercy when the temperature outside is cold and your furnace packs it in. Their should be a web site to rate service companies!

"IT'S A BOX THATS OFFERED"
I AM A COMFORT ADVISOR FOR A RESIDENTIAL HVAC COMPANY AND I LOVE READING THE REVIEWS OF THE PUBLIC ON THIS SITE. PRIOR TO BECOMING A COMFORT ADVISOR I WAS A SERVICE TECHNICIAN AND OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS I HAVE WORKED ON EVERY FURNACE AND HAVE SEEN MANY PROBLEMS. WHAT HOMEOWNERS NEED TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT WE OFFER A BOX AND WE SALE THE COMPANY THAT PROVIDES SERVICE! ALL FURNACES ARE ASSEMBLED WITH THE SAME PARTS FROM OUTSIDE MANUFACTURERS EXAMPLE TRANE,LENNOX,CARRIER,RUUD/RHEEM,GOODMAN,AMANA AND THE LIST GOES ON!WHEN YOUR FURNACE HAS A ISSUE AND YOU CALL THE SERVICE COMPANY WHO SOLD YOU THE FURNACE AND YOU GET A ANSWERING MACHINE OR THE NUMBER IS DISCONNECTED YOU GET MAD AND BLAME THE FURNACE! THERE ARE MANY ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN A FURNACE AND VARYING ELECTRICAL OUTPUTS ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN. WHEN YOU INVEST IN A HVAC SYSTEM YOU NEED TO RESEARCH THE ACTUAL SERVICE COMPANY WHO YOU WANT TO DO THE WORK CHECK THEM OUT CALL THEM AFTER HOURS AND ON THE WEEKENDS AND SEE WHAT TYPE OF RESPONSE YOU GET IF THEY CAN'T ANSWER THE PHONE TO OFFER A ANSWER FOR A QUESTION WHAT ARE THE ODDS THEY WILL ANSWER WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. THEY ARE TO MANY OF WHAT WE CALL IN THE TRADE ONE TRUCKERS WHO HAVE DECIDED THAT THEY CAN GO OUT ON THERE OWN EITHER AFTER BEING TERMINATED OR LAID OFF AND GET IN A TRUCK AND OFF THEY GO, OFFERING HVAC EQUIPMENT THAT THEY GET OFFLINE OR BUY FROM A DISTRIBUTOR AND THEY SALE IT TO A HOMEOWNER AT A LOWBALL PRICE AND THAT PRICE LOOKS VERY ATTRACTIVE TO THEM BUT ALL HE IS AFTER IS THE LITTLE MONEY HE MAKES OFF THE SALE AND IS NOT WORRIED ABOUT PROVIDING THE CUSTOMER WITH THE SERVICE THAT THEY DESERVE THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SOMEONE WHO WANTS THE LOWBALL PRICE ON THINGS THATS THE FACT AND PEOPLE LIKE THAT DESERVE LOWBALL SERVICE. IN THIS FIELD THERE IS A QUOTE THAT FITS VERY WELL "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!" SO WHEN YOU ARE LOOKING FOR REVIEWS ON HVAC EQUIPMENT LOOK ALITTLE FURTHER TO THE ACTUAL SERVICE COMPANY WHO INSTALLS IT AFTER ALL WE ARE OFFERING YOU A BOX WE ARE SELLING THE COMPANY!

"Contractor vs Equipment"
Engineer for a mechanical contractor in NM. I felt compelled to comment on some of the reviews I have read here. In most of the reviews, if you read between the lines, poor workmanship and installation practices cause a lot of problems with all brands of equipment today. Noisy systems (ductwork), ignition problems (gas pressure and venting), frozen condensate lines (draining outside in cold climates), circuit boards (faulty wiring installations) are typical issues in the trade today. The contractor you chose is most important followed by the equipment. If the price is your first concern, you will probably be writing a bad review here also! Find a knowledgable contractor to install a quality brand (Lennox) and the cost will be reasonable.

"Should I or Shouldnt I"
I got an old lennox furnace that was installed in 1968 (its a g8), it still works great! I have it annual inspected and the tech states its like the unit is still brand new. Now im in the market to get a more efficient furnace as the g8 is around 60% or less, but all these reviews get me a little nervous. It would be nice if you all could state your model number as it sounds like the G32's suck but the model im looking at (g61mpv) seems to get good reviews, im still scared though as its going to cost me 7k to get it installed and id rather not waste money on a pos. Our winters get to -50 for weeks on end, I need a reliable furnace.

"What model do you have"
Re: Name: Alf Location: Okotoks Years owned: 10 Review: Replacing the board 3 times in 10 years is unacceptable My question is, what model # is this? You can't just make such a general statement with no particulars.

Review:
Up until this year it has performed fine with little or no maintenance, but suddenly we're looking at $1000 in maintenance/repairs. I'm hesitant to repair it, given the reputation this unit possesses.

Review:
Bought a house last year with a 16 yr old Lennox Pulse furnace in it. Now the ignition module is wearing out, so looking at replacing it with a new Lennox model - G61V. Hoping that the new one is quieter, as the Pulse`s muffler-style venting makes it feel like you are in an airplane rather than a house when the furnace is on.
