"Lennox High Efficiency Furnace Lives up to its Reputation"
I've had this Lennox G51 single stage high efficiency furnace (92%) for four years. It replaced a furnace that was installed in about 1970, which was probably no better than 65% efficient. Obviously I am extremely pleased with the savings in fuel (both cost wise and environmentally). It is quiet and moves air well, keeping the house evenly warm in winter without the drafts caused by the previous furnace (which did not regulate its temperature well, in that it kept blowing air that was not heated, and took a long time to come on as the temperature dropped). This Lennox furnace, however, seems to respond in a very sensitive way to the changing temperatures in winter and comes on when needed and turns off before cold air starts blowing. I have never had any problems with the furnace at all except the second time I turned it on after installation. The installers returned and found a mistake in their own electrical wiring, but nothing wrong with the furnace itself. I would definitely recommend this furnace to others looking to upgrade to a product that is more efficient. It has definitely been a good value.

"Merit 80%"
Had a complete Lennox furnace and ac put in by a qualified company that has been around for years, they are so confident in their equipment they put a 15 year parts and labor warranty on the units. These are very quiet you almost can't hear them run. Great product. I do believe that like everything furnaces do break down however most of the issues are due to not being sized or installed properly. Furnaces do require the technician to set the limits and fan speeds based on your return and duct work. Improper set up will cause premature failure in critical components.

"The Man"
Just had this Lennox G61MP-36B-071-* unit installed replacing a 20 year old lennox unit, this is a 95% efficiency unit. It is a relatively quite unit. Heat distribution is amazingly fantastic. This was just installed this week so I am hoping it last as long as last 80% efficiency lennox unit. The old unit I had to open the front of furnace to change the filter which was not fun. The new unit has filter that just slides out and can be replaced and I can also use a higher quality filter.

"Is it the furnace OR Techs?"
I am interested in reading these reviews. It seems that almost all complaints boil down to service and expectations. When looking at savings (slp98 Guy) Look at electricity and gas. The ECM motor produces less heat, thus the gas will be about 10% more than the suggested 37% savings, but, hydro will be up to 755 less on the furnace or 25% overall. Also, savings will be negated if a "smooth setback recovery" is used in a programmable thermostat, as it confused the logistics in the board controlling the cycles. In this case, this is all installation related. Find another service company with a tech that is fully trained! The set up is critical on these furnaces, and the installers must be properly trained. Sadly, few are. At least 90% of the reviews I have read are installation and service related, not the equipment. My 27 years experience in Ottawa, where temperatures are regularly below 0f, is that Lennox, if installed properly, has the lowest failure rate of any furnace I have seen. It is a sad state, that more training is not more comprehensive from the sales on, to ensure the sale of the proper equipment for the application

"great"
Surprised by the reviews I purchased a g61mpv-60-090 and it has improved the quality of life in our house. It's improved both the heating and cooling through out the house. We have saved typically 20 % on our home heating cost. Its super quit we don't notice its cycling on and off. Obviously most satisfied people never reach out with a positive review. Lennox is a multi- billion dollar company thats a 100 years old so they obviously make a great product.

"Great gas savings!"
I've had this furnace for a little over a year now and I am extremely satisfied with my results. My previous furnace had been getting old and ineffective and when it finally broke down I was in quite a lurch. A friend of mine recommended this model to me and I reluctantly purchased it. My savings were instantly viewable: I've saved several hundred dollars in gas in the last year because of how fuel-efficient this model is. There are no downsides to the model as far as I have been able to see, nor has there been any sign for any necessary repairs, though I do have a warranty in case the need arises. The model was recommended to me by a friend and I would certainly recommend it to a friend in turn because of how satisfied I am with this model. I already have at least one friend who I've talked to after his own furnace broke down a little over a month ago.

"Warm, Quiet, Efficiant."
I have had my furnace for about 4 years now, and "WOW!" the warmth it provides in the winter is amazing, it kept me warm all winter, with about 38 inches of snow on the ground maximum and 12 degree weather. Not only was it warm, but it was quiet too! My wife and I would fall asleep under the covers every-night like warm, undisturbed babies. My only complaint is that sometimes the plate on them could be easily kicked off by my excited children running around my home, but it's an easy fix. And out of the 4 years I've owned it, I've only need to repair it once, when my father tried to move my couch by lifting it up... And dropping it on my furnace. I would buy this furnace again, because of it's efficiency on the gas it burns. I end up saving a lot of money. Yes I would recommend it to a friend.

"1982 Pulse still works well."
I purchased 60K BTU Lenox Pulse Furnace in 1982. Aside from new heat exchanger in 2002 supplied by Lenox for free, I have had 0 problems. Based on my experisnce and all these neagative comments, I agree they don't make funaces like they used to. I was going to replace it due to it's age, but these reviews gives me pause.I live on upstate NY where it goes near or below 0 degrees in winter.
