"Furnace parts and repair"
We installed a Lennox gas furnace in our new home 9 years ago. In the last two and a half years we have had to replace the main circuit board twice (at a cost of almost $900 each time). Presently we have been without heat for over a week while the service company is waiting for delivery of another circuit board. Obviously there is a design fault with the circuit board or the furnace. There is also a problem with parts and delivery. We have been sitting in an unheated house, in below zero temperatures for a week trying to keep our pipes from freezing. Totally unacceptable!! K & C Hampshire

"Lennox G26 Gas Furnace installed 1997"
We had a very bad experience with this furnace, with issues that seem to resonate with a lot of other Lennox owners of this particular line. We have had the Blower motor replaced, exuhst motor replaced, electronic control module replaced, several service calls by reputable contractors (more then one). It stopped working again a few days ago, So we are giving up on it and are getting a replacement. I am not sure if newer Lennox units are more reliable, but I am not planning on taking another chance on a Lennox. Righ now I am considering Trane, Goodman and Carrier all of which seem to have their strengths.

Review:
"Disappointed"
Bought our home 4 years old, as a single mother, in my eyes since the furnace worked, great. Unaware to the forthcoming problems, found out this unit is a Lennox Pulse. Had I known then, I would've offered 10 grand less on the purchase price of my home. I have had nothing but problems with this unit. Works great at 0 - minus 10, but any colder than that, it doesn't come on. Now married, either my husband or I are getting up several times during the night to 'hopefully' reset the dam thing. Also have found out that Lennox had a huge law suit on this brand, which apparently has been settled. We have sunk about 1500.00 into this useless piece of metal, and are glad to say (4 winters later), we are finally in a position to get rid of it, and are purchasing a carrier. Had we known how much money & grief this Lennox Lemon would have caused us, we would've opted out and purchased a different brand of furnace earlier. do not buy a LENNOX....unless, you want to play russian roulette with your Canadian Winters and hope your furnace will kick on.

"Lennox 12 year models are junk!!"
Bought my house w/a Lennox WhisperHeat 1 stage Lennox model. It also came w/a 10 seer - 3 ton- r-22 coolant air conditioner unit. Within 5 years of living in the house, the air conditioner sprung a "hairline" leak that the tech can't find - likely on the condenser itself. Had the furnace checked & cleaned to find the "Heat Exchanger" needs replacing ($1,000+ part) that still has 8 years on the heat exchange warranty but doesn't cover the quoted $400 labor charge. Economical bottom line - I need to replace the whole system. HVAC contractors coming out for quotes tell me the Lennox "Whisperheat" was a lousy model for heat exchangers and the air conditioner unit was the 'builders low end model'. In a nutshell - buyer beware of buying a house thinking all's well for at least 10 years. This house has been one major repair after another and this HVAC system replacement is a double-whammy!

"lennox (lemon)"
Very unhappy with new Lennox furnace. Bought their best, high efficiency in 2004/'05. It blew its original fan at approx 20 months of age. Has now blown the second fan (last night) at approx another 20 months, Sept 8 '08. We let fan run 24/7 for air circulation, & are scrupulous about cleaning air filters every 2-3 weeks. Buyer beware!

"Heat Exchanger Failures"
In 1989 I had upgraded to a g8q3-120e furnace. This unit performed well for 15 years. During a regular pre-winter service check, our servicing dealer's technician asked permission to cut open the side to inspect the heat exchanger. When he had access to the heat exchanger, he found 4 major cracks on the Duracurve heat exchanger, that required immediate shut down and furnace replacement. This really bothered me as to why the dealer only advised us years after the problem was known. It is disturbing to think of the potential results with carbon monoxide entering the living areas.

Water sounds in the the fan which caused the g32 unit to quit. I have called Winnipeg Supply for several calls, but they can not find the root cause. So far all I do is spend money on last minute calls when the unit fails. Never buy a Lennox.

Review:
Purchased a Lennox G27M-3-75 high efficiency two-stage furnace in NOV 1999. Served 2x yearly as recommended. FEB 2007 started having problems. OCT 2007 started making a horrible clanging noise and sounded like burning rubber. Shut it down immediately. Called for service. Bad control board, it burned up the 2nd board from the heat. If was told if it hadn't been shut down immediately, the house could have potentially gone up in flames. Very scary! What if no one had been home? The whole house would have been lost. At 8 years old this shouldn't have happened. With an estimated repair of @ $1500.00, I had the furnace replaced with a Carrier single-stage. The Lennox unit was installed by a very reputable contractor and passed city code inspection. Something is wrong with this model and I can't get any satisfaction from Lennox. A home and lives could have been lost. I don't know where to turn.
