Lennox G71P
The Lennox G71P is a (discontinued) variable speed gas furnace made for use in residential settings. It is also known as G71MMP. In 2008, the G71P won the Silver award from the Dealer Design Award Program. It is rated for 95% AFUE and is Energy Star qualified. This furnace may also qualify buyers to a federal tax credit, according to Lennox's product brochure.
Its technology includes a patented steel primary heat exchanger and stainless steel secondary heat exchanger. It is equipped with a variable-capacity gas valve and Lennox's Precise Comfort technology, which the company says controls temperature and airflow in small increments for more efficient use of fuel. The G71P can also be used with an electric heat pump. The Lennox company claims the G71P can save a household up to $1000 on utility costs per year.

"Lennox G71P failed third time in four years"
Same or similar issue each time. Pressure switch fails. Ironic thing is that we replaced our nearly 20 year old Heil because we feared it would fail during the winter. So, for a 4 year old furnace to fail three times: totally unacceptable. I spent a lot of money and hopefully the hvac company will replace it for free. I'm probably dreaming but isn't it their responsibility to fight with Lennox to get their money back? I have spent enough days/ nights sitting here freezing. I will not ever buy a Lennox again.

"Lennox is junk and the dealer Astar charges for everything."
I paid over $20k for this unit and installation. in the two years i've had it, I have spent $600. in repair and today is it down again. two days with no heat. the first time Astar came in to repair it, the tech broke two light bulbs and said nothing. they left me w/o heat for over a week. they keep pushing for service (what a joke). Astar charges (too much in my opinion)for every repair and evaluation at the rate of $100. per evaluation. they repaired the lennox furnace a month ago and it isn't working again. they're due here this am to once again repair this 20k piece of junk. It's the g71.

"Lennox G71MPP 95% AFUE / XC21 20SEER AC"
I purchased a new Lennox g71mpp 95% afue furnace with variable speed motor along with the xc21 20 seer air conditioner last November, 2008. Overall, I'd easily rate this as one of the best purchases I've ever made. By replacing my old (as in fifty-year-old!)Lennox pulse furnace, and a twenty-year old AC, I'm not only living in a better, more comfortable environment, but am also saving well over $200/month in utilities! Hats off to Lozier Heating & Cooling in West Des Moines, Iowa.
