"REVIEW OF MY FORCED AIR FURNACE"
I have owned the furnace for one year or so. I like the fact that it is new, clean and fits well into the opening in my pantry section of my laundry room area, and easy to remove the filters when they get dirty.all I have to do is unclip two little clips on the side of the box, reach in and grab the two filters that are in the inside, and pull them out of the whole that they are in. I can easily get the replacement filters over at the local home depot if I need to replace them. I replace the filters in this furnace about ounce every two months or so. I don't like the fact that it is a energy hog. it really makes my meter race when it is turned on. it is not energy eficient. I have not had to do any repairs to it yet as it is still around a year old. I would never buy this furnace again as it takes to much money to run. I would not reccommend this furnace to anyone as it cost to much to opporate.

"NOT HAPPY WITH GOODMAN"
I just purchased a Goodman Furnace and so far I am not happy with the lack of warmth the Furnace puts out. The air is lukewarm and seems more cool than warm.

My equipment worked fine for the 5 years under warrenty. As soon as the warranty was up everyting started breaking!!! Air and heat. I would have been better off spending a little more for better equipment! This has been a nightmare!!!

"furnace breakdown"
We purchased a gooman HE furnace Nov 2006 supposably guaranteed for five years. As you can see it does not run out until Nov 2011. In that time it has acted up twice with bills mounting to 230 dollars. I have approached the supplier for to be reimbursed for part of my outlay only to be informed that it is out of warranty(I am not a happy person) As we live in Canada we had to have it fixed right away not being able to wait for the company to take action. I wil think twice next time. Try to get a goodman rep. to answer about your preblems, Good luck.

"online registration/warranty a SCAM"
I was urged by the person who installed the furnace to fill out Goodman's online registration so I could get the extended warranty. When I did, Goodman's website created an error where I couldn't print the verification. My printer works just fine. When I tried to bring back the page, I was denied. When I called, I was unable to connect to a person. Is this a scam?

As a contractor, you can choose any make model to install. But any good contract will tell you that Goodman products are the least expensive for any contractor to purchase, and it is because of the material it's made of. Just compare the weight of the product and it will tell you that the motors and metal are not made as strong as other units. If price is the main concern, then consider a Goodman product, and it will get the job done for you. But if it's quality you are looking for consider other makes. Remember a good H.V.A.C Techn is a artist.

We purchased a Goodman 46k, 93% unit online from a defunct HVAC company. It was a new, never installed furnace. I have installed many heating & AC units, although most of them were industrial or commercial units. Further, this unit was installed with the dual purpose of heating a remote section of the home while also serving as backup heat in the event that the primary heat source went down. (Trane 2 stage high efficient with A/C coil which I also installed) The Trane has functioned perfectly for 2 plus years. This Goodman unit worked equally well for a period of 2 weeks, then the board decided that the polarity of the power was incorrect despite the fact that nothing was changed. Detailed tests verified that polarity, voltage, & grounding were all well within specs. It seems that the board died in such a short time, a period over which there were no thunderstorms or other household electronic failures. I know enough about modern furnaces that I am well aware that the Trane could also experience a problem at any time in the future. However, my complaint with Goodman is that they advertise their great warranty then point to fine print which says they do not warrant units bought online. I can only imagine how much other fine print & loopholes exist in their warranty. I understand their concerns about idiots butchering installations but on the other hand I am also aware of people in the trade that I would never let touch my furnace. What's wrong with Goodman in exercising a little common sense by choosing to back what it sells? Goodman probably makes a usable product but do not read to much into their warranty.
