"Keep scratching my head"
Have two seperate unit (per level) in my place. The upper level furnace runs perfect, not one problem. The main level furnace is garbage! Both goodman. Continues to break down every other month. Always something, have used the same hvac company for 10 years, luckily it is my personal home with the issues and not one of my buyers. Their last chance is today to fix it or replace the entire unit with another companies. We shall see, won't let them install goodmans on any future projects. That I know for sure.

"AC starts blowing hot air instead of cold"
Over the past two months our Goodman (2 yrs old) starts blowing hot air. It will work fine for days and then starts blowing hot air instead of cool air. We have walked into the house and it was 95 degrees and going higher. The technicians have been out to the house three times and replaced the thermostat, contact switch and ran a new ground because it was only pulling 19 volts to the outside unit. Last night at midnight it started blowing hot air. I turned it off for five minutes and then it worked fine. It is mystery. I think it might be a bad circuit card or something dealing with a controller.

"new guy"
I just recently bought my home which is 5yrs young. The subdivision was built 5yrs ago. My a/c stopped working. We call for repairs under our home warranty. Goodman ar42-1 a/c leaks both outside and inside, and compressor. After reading these reviews I'm subject to buy a new a/c

"DIY"
When I first bought my gms9 93% I thought it was a solid unit. Quiet and modern looking. Draft inducer seal went the first year and leaked water inside the unit and all over my floor. Now on its third year and I will be replacing the flame sensor. The draft inducer motor whines a bit now. Not looking forward to that repair bill if and when it comes. Not a horrible unit if your comfortable doing repairs yourself, but I don't think I will buy another goodman product or recommend them to anyone. On the other hand, I've never owned anything else to compare this one too.

Purchased last June. First year using. About a minute before the blower stops running, there is a bang noise. This does not happen all the time. Sometime it is a quiet noise but sometimes it is a very loud noise almost like a door slamming. Serviceman said there is no gas leak and the noise is because of my 2 level unit. That can't be or else the noise would be the same every time. Seems like it is quiet for a length of time and then a loud bang, like something has to build up before it is loud. Anyone else have this problem? First time it happened, I thought it was going to blow up.

We have a Goodman GMNT 120-5, with a professional annual service contract. So far we are on our fourth blower motor, the ignition system broke once, the flue collector box kit cracked and the unit, specifically the vent motor, is very noisy. Despite having a humidifier from General Aire attached humidity control in the house is basically none existent. We are planning to replace the unit this year with a different brand.

on my 2nd heat exchanger with this unit- although the part is covered under warranty, the installation of the part is NOT covered. I've spent close to $1000 total to have it replaced and installed TWICE. Buy another brand- this is just too much of a headache.
