"Goodman Heat pumps and Furnaces."
Hi, I just wanted to state some facts about Goodman Heating and Cooling Equipment. I am a journeyman hvac installer, we install Bryant/Payne/Carrier, Trane/American Standard, Goodman/Amana and a few more. I have read a lot and I do mean a lot of negative reviews about Goodman. First off, Goodman makes an outstanding product for the money. They are not junky or garbage as some people have said. Most these "people" are complaining because of crappy installs or using shady contractors. Every furnace is like an automobile, they require a yearly inspection and or maintenance. Please use a honest and reliable contractor or installer who will stand behind their work and installation. Just some facts in percentages repairs in the last 4 years: Goodman 2.2%, Trane 3.1%, and Carrier 2.6%. And in my own home, I use a Goodman gmv 95% afue 2 stage furnace and a Goodman 14 seer heat pump. Both have never had a single problem. Yes down the road I am sure the furnace will lose the ignitor, just like a car battery will die. This is not Goodman's fault, they do not make the ignitors. Neither do Trane or Carrier for that matter. If you are considering buying a Goodman furnace or a/c unit / Heat pump. Do it they have one of the best factory warranties and do yourself a favor, Choose a known hvac installer. Remember the lowest bid isn't always the best.

"about goodman (i'm a CONTRACTOR)"
Goodman furnaces and a/c units are not the best units in the world they are good for the price and have a good warranty.People talk real bad about goodman units, people say they have a higher break down rating than others. 1, goodman sells about 4 times as many units than any other company out there so sure there will be more break downs because there are a lot more out there if you look at %'s there will be less breakdowns than most companies. 2nd, it has to be properly sized and installed correctly if not I dont care what unit you put in, it will shorting the life of the unit and will have more break downs and you will be upset. I read some of these complaints and they have nothing to do with the units again, 80% of the problems with any furnace is due to bad maintenance and bad installation

The review that is negitive is due to poor install. pay to have a good company and you will have no problems. also most of the bad reviews come from people trying to do things them selves. again pay to have a good company you will have good results.

Six years and not one complaint with our Goodman gmh model furnace. Reliable, dependable and absolute comfort with this 2-stage furnace. We paid a bit more for the installation by using a quality hvac company but truely believe that makes a difference and was worth the extra $$$. Saw the comment about someone having to replace a flame sensor...are u kidding? Our service company cleans our sensor every year as part of the annual service and says if someone tells you you need a new one, you're most likely being ripped off. He says they just need to be cleaned with steel wool or emery cloth...just like a car's oxygen sensor, they get a carbon buildup and if not cleaned will affect how the furnace runs. I highly recommend Goodman. It's been a very dependable and quite running furnace from day 1.

I had a Goodman gmv95 furnace and a 18seer Amana unit installed. Been 2 years, runs great no problems. Really cut down an my gas and electric bills. I would recommend it

Having problems with your heating equiptment. Maybe you shouldnt have used the absolute lowest bidder and then haggle them down another few hundred.You get what you pay for!! And you got what you paid for hehehe. I have 15 yrs in this field and I have seen some real hacks, but the even bigger hacks are the customers wanting something for nothing. Bragging to they're friends about the great deal they got and the installer did a great job for pennys on the dollar of what the other guys wanted. He cut corners because he wasnt making jack shit off the job and you only have yourself to blame not such a great deal after all.Anyone especially diy should never attempt to install a furnace your familys lives are at risk. are you that cheap?!?! Its not your fault years and years of the home depot telling you that you can do it must have blinded you to what your real abilitys are. stick to tile and sinks and leave the real work to trades men like it should be. go back to the office and power lunches and conference calls and quit complaining about goodman equiptment its the best selling equipment on the market and its made in the usa. Not like your nissan or bmw

"GOODMAN IS AWESOME"
Awesome Unit. I just had the 95 % gas furnace installed. It is wonderful. It replaced a 50 year old Janitrol. The heat is so comfortable,where is used to be cold it isn't now. It is all even. It is very quiet too. I am in love with this furnace and cant wait to get my first bill. I live in ny and the gas bills have been horrible. Goodman has an excellent warranty. With the installer I have 10 years parts and labor, no one could compete with that.

"Goodman GMV950905DXB furnace"
I recently had a Goodman gmv950905dxb furnace installed in my house. It is their top end model that comes with an ecm programmable motor and a 2 stage burner. I am very impressed with how quiet this furnace is. You can program the motor for the size of your house, or the way you want it to run. It is very easy to do once you read the instructions 2 or 3 times. I have the fan run continually on a very slow speed to keep the air inside the house moving. While this is happing, the humidifier is keeping the air to the correct level, and the UV lights are killing any germs or bacteria in the house. I used to dread looking at my gas bill, but this month I am looking forward to seeing just how much money I am saving and having a more comfortable home.

I had a EverRest installed, which is made by Goodman, a 4 ton unit 95% eff. No problems. My gas bill dropped in half over the past 2 years.
