"Carrier ICS works fine..."
I had the Carrier ICS gas furnace installed in my home 2 years ago. So far, I haven't had any problems. Seems reliable. However, seems like the electric bill is high with this unit. However, the gas bill is good. Must keep it on 72 at least, to keep from freezing. 73 seems ideal. Pay about $650 per year in gas bill. When the power goes out, so does the furnace cause the Infinity thermostat has to be reset again. That's the only downside. Overall, I am satisfied.

"INDUCER HOUSEING NOISE"
I HAD A CARRIER MODEL# 58MVCO80-F-1-14 INSTALLED IN MY HOUSE IN NOVEMBER OF 2010. I WAS HAVING TROUBLES WITH THE INDUCTOR MOTOR MAKING NOSIE ON RAMP UP AND DOWN. MY INSTALLER PUT SEVERAL IN BEFORE HE FOUND THAT THE MOTOR SUPPORT WASHERS WERE INSTALLED INPROPERLY. THE INSTALLER PUTS THE INDUCER MOTOR ON THE FURNACE. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD THROW THAT OUT FOR ANYONE THAT HAS THERE FURNACE IN AS A DOWN FLOW AND HAVING THAT PROBLEM. I HAD TO PUT UP WAS THIS PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. EVERYTHING ELSE IS WORKING GOOD.

"Energy efficient furnace Noise Problems"
I installed a carrier 95% efficiency furnace last month and have not been happy with its performance. It does make alot of noise when it moves the air through the duct, and the noise is significantly, almost twice more than what we had before with our 16 year old carrier system. It now sounds like water is flowing through the pipes and it is loud, especially on the first floor of the house. Complaint to the dealer and does not believe that it is a furnace issue but a ductwork design issue. So why was the noise there before??? He keeps denying that there is a problem to begin with. I am going to write a complaint to Carrier to get the system to operate to at a comfortable level. Any ideas

"Carrier built Bryant furnace"
Original furnace in our house built in 85 is going strong, and is a Bryant built furnace 100000btu unit. We have the gas company maintenance plan on it the last few years due to the age, and the only thing that has gone wrong with it was the gas control valve recently. Although, the neutral gas company repairman stated that the heat exchanger is on its last legs as not cracked yet but will not be long. Am thinking about replacing it with a new high efficiency carrier, but with all the issues and different suggestions from different dealers, I think I will stay away from Carrier for the new furnace. Some of their dealers say they can install in our home and others say it won't work have to stay with 80% efficiency. Can anyone suggest a good brand to buy today that will not have all these issues? Thanks, Troy, Michigan resident

"Carrier Infinity"
I had a Carrier furnace installed last June. It was an Infinity Model. It is the quietest furnace I have ever had just as promised and does a much better job of warming the whole house. I also had them replace the air conditioner. I was a little upset as it was much larger than my old one, but once I heard it run I was amazed. Carrier is the quietest on my street and now all my neighbors want one too. It was not a cheap system but you get what you pay for. Make sure you ask about the size of the A/C.
