"58uvb60-14 2 stage"
Had my Carrier installed by one of Carrier's recommended dealer in Kentwood, Michigan. In August of 2010. This would have been my 3rd summer turning our AC on with zero results. Repairman came out, we were his 4th call this week for same unit and same problem, corrosion coil. What was suppose to be a 3-hour warranty job turned into a 2-day process due to the toxic chemicals that were now in. y system. I was also told that, although Carrier is aware of the faulty coil they will not cover the labor. Here is the fun part, a friend of mine in a different town had the same unit installed and all parts and labor were covered. Stay tuned, we will see who is telling the truth soon. Carrier or Kentwood Plumbing and Heating. The biggest issue however is Carrier has a huge issue with the coils and they need to do something about it. We had toxic chemicals in our unit, who's to say if my family was breathing any of that in.

"95.5% Single Stage Multi-Speed 80.000"
I just purchased a new Carrier furnace. My old furnace was 75,000 BTU with a standard blower. I increase the size to a 80,000 BTU with a four-ton blower. What a difference that made I could be anymore happier, it heats the house in half the time of my old one. It's a model number 59SC5A080.

"Trying to understand, WHY."
In 2008 of Aug. I bought a new Carrier 58 mvc high efficiency 98% furnace, to save money and have reliability. In Jan. 2013 this highly recommended furnace stopped, and we woke to a very cold house. I phoned furnace repair person he told me to reset the furnace and get him to come out to clean the furnace. After $ 200 in labor, replacing the electronic board, inducer fan, ($1300) in warranty parts, which was Carrier support department idea of a fix. $220 for his vacuum truck try to suck out the primary, and secondary heat exchangers, this was his idea and Carrier wanted more proof that the heat exchangers were the problem. Now a month has passed, the decision was made to replace the two heat exchangers. no parts in Vancouver, had to wait. After a week or so we got the parts and he came right away. This job to replace the heat exchangers is a big job for someone who has never done it and it could take up to 8 hours, more $$$$. Carrier only pays for 4 hours. Exchangers installed we started the furnace and our home was warm again, and my wife was happy. I was not, I think that Carrier should have paid all the labour and parts as they sold a defective furnace in the beginning, they knew that it was broken when they shipped here from the U. S. Carrier customer service is a laugh, very polite and curteous, its like talking to a wall. No words, we are sorry very for your hardship came out of their lips. There is a helpful hint for any of you out there with this type of furnace, raise the furnace on the opposit side of the water drain at least 3/8 inch so water doesn't stay in the secondary heat exchanger I have a personal goal in life NOW to tell my story to anyone who will listen, and hope when it comes time to buy CARRIER products, they don't. Thank You Ken

" What is title?"
I built a brand new home in 2005 with a Carrier model mca100-1-20 furnace installed. I now have been told that I have to replace the primary heat exchanger, the secondary heat exchanger ( both partially covered by Carrier because they determined that this model is defective)and now, surprise, surprise, add on a cracked inducer motor wheel for a total cost to me $1,200!!!(What next?) I was told that I could replace this one with all new parts but then would have the same problems again in the future, because the parts have the same problem. I should not be having to replace a furnace after such a short period of time number one. I could get a different model new Carrier with a minimal amount off from the heating company that installed it, but why should I pay again when the product I had installed new should have lasted for a reasonable amount of time? Carrier, you stink. By the way, there is no rating low enough for this product. I am going to another brand and another local company to replace this piece of junk. You both lost a customer, and anyone I can tell about it.

Review:
"They scam you on warranty."
I purchased a new house in 1994, which came with a Carrier 58sxc furnace installed, one of the poorly engineered models covered by a class action settlement regarding bad heat exchangers, where Carrier agreed to provide a 20 year parts and labor warranty on the exchangers. Recently, the condensing (secondary) heat exchanger failed. It's very obvious, there are rust perforations in the "coils." This means carbon monoxide leaking into the heated airstream. Ouch. Unfortunately, there was no documentation of the installation date, and the local dealer who's sticker was on the furnace could find no records. The furnace was made in November, 1992 (just over 20 years), but I bought the new house in July, 1994 (well less than 20 years). I contacted the Carrier distributor, Carrier Great Lakes. They told me install date didn't matter - that it was in a serial number range which qualified for the "20 years parts and labor" settlement, and to contact a local Carrier dealer for warranty service. I did so. They first wanted to know if they should send a salesman to sell me a new furnace. No, I want a warranty repair. Then, they wanted $90 for an "inspection." Not necessary - I have pictures clearly showing and proving the failure. They said Carrier didn't pay enough for labor, so they would charge me additional labor to replace it, even under the settlement. More discussion, and they say without proof of installation date, no free labor - $650-1100 to replace a heat exchanger (which involves 2 hours and some $20 caulk). Would I like to buy a new furnace? No. I'll forget about the free labor and do it myself, under the "LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY" I have as the original owner - I have a defective heat exchanger, and want a warranty replacement. "Carrier won't let us do that, we have to do the replacement." OK, I'll call Carrier and tell them you won't honor their warranty. Call Carrier corporate. Explain the situation. First person says the settlement timeframe would be based off the closing date for my home's mortgage, so I'm covered. Great. I have proof that it failed (would you like to see the pictures?), so don't expect me to pay the $90 "inspection" fee your servicing dealer wants. "We have no control over that." WHAT? It's warranty, and your dealer wants to charge me for a repair. Escalates me to next level. That person says coverage is based on install date, and without proof, date of manufacture, so no on the settlement labor. OK. I want a replacement for my defective exchanger, per the lifetime warranty ("Carrier will provide a new heat exchanger without charge"). "You have to go through the distributor and they won't do it unless you're a certified HVAC contractor." I asked "where does it say that in the warranty?" 10 minutes of searching, and they couldn't find it (it's not there, I have a copy, maybe it's in the newer warranties). Summary - Carrier has a scam going. They won't honor their warranty, and tell the consumer that it has to go through a distributor. Distributors refuses to deal with homeowners. Dealers only want to sell you a new furnace, or charge exorbitant prices for a warranty repair. Carrier - stay away!

Review:
"Horrible Product"
I had a Carrier Infinity hvac system installed by sears thinking that Carrier was a reliable good product and that sears would provide quality customer service. I was very wrong on both counts. After only 4 years my Carrier furnace flagged a false error code for the filter change that simply would not reset. You must then clear this annoying code every time you need to do a manual setting on the thermostat. Soon after, the furnace simply never came on one morning when it was about 37 degrees outside. It never gets really cold in Southern California so it’s not like this furnace is being overworked. After unplugging and plugging it in I finally got it to work. To make a long story short the fault codes presented and the fact that it reset by cycling the power input show the problem to be electrical. The idiot from sears tried to sell me $800 worth of duct repair without even looking at the fault codes at all. That got us off to a bad start. Next he tried to charge me $600 for a thermostat, yes, $600. There is not a thermostat on Earth or even on the Space Shuttle worth $600 so that was an obvious rips off. Search Google for Thermostat prices and you'll find they average well less than $100. So I paid $150 just to get a 1 year service plan just to get the thermostat replaced to fix the False Filter code - the new thermostat did fix this problem - although the idiot from sears said it would not and that my imaginary massive duct failures were the real cause...so that left an intermittent electrical problem causing my furnace not to come on the one or two days you really need it in social. To summarize it took 4 visits over 3 weeks and then they charged my wife when I was not at home $264 to replace the $600 thermostat even though I was assured that all parts and labo - especially for the thermostat - were covered by the $150 warranty. This charge is in dispute now. Today the idiot was here and took 3 hours to tell me I have a bad "high limit switch" which apparently will shut down your entire furnace when it has intermittent problems. My last furnace, the cheap contractor furnace in the house when it was built lasted 15 years with no repairs - ever - required. When I replaced it, only for improved efficiency, it was working fine. This piece of carrier crap has had 2 bad parts already in the first 4 years and it takes sears months to fix simple problems while at the same time trying to practice Predatory Service charging. I can only imagine how these scumbags lie to and rip off the elderly and the technically challenged after how this idiot tried to overcharge me for unnecessary repairs. As for Carrier, their product sucks in my opinion, I paid way more to get way less with Carrier. Will never buy another Carrier product or use sears for anything again, and it’s no surprise sears are going out of business.

"Monoxide"
So apparently Carrier had a ruling against them in 2007/2008 due to the use of inferior products that resulted air exchanger issues. Well I guess it does not work like a car recall as Carrier never bothered to notify us about the furnace we purchased in 2001 and fortunately our monitor went off or we could have died. It was so bad that we were told to leave the house until it could be repaired. I think it is pretty irresponsible even of a company not to notify customers when the consequences are so serious.
