"Carrier 90+ furnaces"
I am a Carrier dearler and installed a 58ssb in my own house. Have had no problems with it. I read many of the problems people have had. Firat the parts, all part in Carrier had a 5 year warranty, it is now 10 years. The prices paid by many of the people were way too much. I have noticed that when problems come it is for three reasons. 1 the furnace is too big for the house some dealers don't know how to size units. 2 the furnaces are installed wron and the return air is too small. this causes the shut down when the air filter gets dirty. 3 people buy the 1 inch filters that are too thick, buy the 89 cent blue filters. The other ones do not let the air though and causes the furance to overheat and the saftey controls lock the furnace out. Get a good dealer.

"Excellent So Far - Performance 93 - Carrier"
Carrier Performance 93 Gas Furnace installed 3 months ago. Very satisfied so far, and a 10 year parts/labor warranty was included by Carrier. I think that most times if you do not choose a good installer you will run into problems. So far, this unit is great, running at low speed most of the time. The bills are dramatically lower after switching from oil heat.

"Love Carrier"
We've Sold/Installed Many brands over the years. Carrier, Trane, Goodman, Lennox, Comfortmaker. Carrier is absolutely the best in quality, efficiency, and Customer service and support. The Infinity is the best all around system on the market hands down. We'll never sell anything else.

I bought Carrier Weathermaker 92% high efficiency furnace in 1995. It never gives me any problem throughout the year. Never has any part replaced and never has any service calls. By reviewing the comments of others, I just think how lucky I am to have this furnace serve me so well. I would not hesitate to buy aother one if I have to. A solid quality product.

"What is everyone talking about?"
I have had a Carrier furnace in three homes. I have never, ever had a lick of trouble with any. In 1985, I installed a Carrier furnace in my home in NW Florida. I had a Carrier Infinity furnace installed in my home in New Orleans and I just installed 2 Carrier Infinity Hybrid Heat systems in my 5500 sq foot Northern VA home. All have been extremely good products (although not cheap). In any case, I cannot say enough positively about the Carrier Infinity line of furnaces. They seem to be at the apex of the industry in quality and comfort.

I have been installing carrier equipment for the last 4 years. I will not install any other brand if I can help it. Since then, customer satisfaction & comfort increased and call backs decreased. Sounds Like most of these unsatisfied people have more of a problem with a poor installation, not poor engineering. Maybe research the contractor not the product. If any brand equipment is not installed or retrofitted properly, it will not operate properly. Maybe there should have been modifications to the duct system, perhaps the technician follows a poor installation procedure. I stand behind Carriers strong product line.

I am also in the HVAC Business. Just like others have mentioned we put in so many Carrier comfort/performance/infinity furnaces I've lost count. They have been rock solid for us as well. Here in Canada we have long, long winters with temps dropping to -30c being the norm. The demand on any furnace is hugh. They have held up for us for the last 5 years. Remember a good installer can make a difference. And make sure your furnace is sized right for your house. Many inexperienced installers will just oversize your furnace to make sure you have enough heat. But oversized furnaces will have short little runs, which build moisture, overwork components and cause problems down the road. A right sized furnace will come on and work for a good length of time getting all the components hot and keep the furnace healthy.

I don't know what some people are talking about. Maybe they didn't have their furnace installed properly or something. I had the Carrier Performance 93 installed 4 years ago and it has been one of the best investments I've ever made. We live in Toronto, and it has only cost us $460 to heat our house for the entire winter.(fyi- we only have a small bungalow, but still!) When we moved in, we had an old oil furnace so we had it replaced, and over the course of 3 winters we have saved approx.$900. I've never touched the furnace yet and it works great!

Review:
We purchased our WeatherMaker Model 58MVP with our home in 2000. In 1997, the previous owner purchased it as a replacement for a Trane heat pump system installed when the home was built in 1993. She claimed the house never felt warm in the winter before she bought the Carrier unit. We are nearing the end of our sixth heating season and we've had no problems or expense with the system other than air filters. For added peace of mind, the previous owner bought the extended warranty which transferred to us -- but it looks like that's one that will never be used! A great product that will be replaced next time by another Carrier product!
