"Scrap Metal"
Top of the line carrier installed in new home. Have had 18 services calls on this furnace since installed. I have used 3 different contractors. Furnace circuit board burned up last night after service people left. No heat for 3 days will they get the part.

"Should have kept the old 35 year old furnace"
The weather is getting cold so I turned the furnace on. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised to find that again it is not working properly. It ran and blew a bit of heat for a very short time before it started making strange noises and blowing cold air only. We have had problems with this furnace since it was a couple of years old. We never needed a repair on the old original furnace that was in the house when we moved in. We're on a first name basis with the repair man. He's a nice guy but I'm getting tired of seeing him a couple of times each Winter. I would never buy a Carrier furnace 58MTA060-12 again. I do not like having a furnace I cannot depend on!

"Worried"
We have 3 Carrier MVC80 furnaces in the house with Honeywell electrostatic air filters. As of now 2 of the air cleaners failed, transformers burned out, and 2 inducer motors on the furnaces have failed. Far from impressed. Stay away from Carrier, their quality control is terrible.

""Bum" Furnace"
I bought a new home in 2007 with a new Carrier furnace; I had anticipated a good working furnace for many years... So far, I've had to bring a Technician in twice because the furnace had broken down...the 1st time was to replace the motherboard, the 2nd time was to replace the blower motor. This furnace has cost me hundreds of dollars (warranty covers parts only and registered Carrier service Technician costs are ridiculous) in repairs already and it's only 4 years old. My warranty expires next year, and I'm dreading what the cost of this "bum" furnace will be then.

"Pretty bad"
I got this furnace newly installed by the previous owner of my house, just 2 weeks before moving in. Summary: o 4 years no issues o next 7 years I had to repair it 5 times, circuit board 3 times and sensors twice o each repair on average $300 (ranging from $225 to $350) o not nice waking up at 5 AM in wintertime with furnace blowing cold air (outdoor temp -20 Celsius or so) o the fan is partially broken, loud noises during start until it reaches "cruising" speed Conclusion: wondering how these guys are still in business. Will never buy another Carrier product unless it has 10 years warranty or similar. I've tried to keep my language clear of the word "crap", you would guess in what context. Couldn't.

"garbage"
I had a 18 yr old furnace that I replaced with Carrier I have had CONSTANT problems and required service calls all the time. I would wake up in the morning and it would just be off, in the coldest time of winter too! my husband and my children and I spent many nights freezing because the piece of crap always broke down. The 1st yr I had it it all began. My old furnace NEVER did anything near what this one has what a RIP .....stay away from Carrier when you call them they say screw you around and blame issues on something other then the furnace. I have only had this stupid thing for 4 yrs and now I hae to replace it yet again :() I am going with Trane I hear great reviews I just want a warm house...... the coin you spend on these you think that wouldn't be too much to ask for?

"Total and complete junk (58 CL105)"
I hate this furnace, the ancient furnace it replaced may have been inefficient, but at least it ran reliably and didn't need major repairs on a yearly basis. This furnace started acting up within a month of its warranty expiration, where a malfunction in the circuit board started a fire, frying the electronics to a crisp and nearly burning my house down! The fire left charring on the stairs, it was a small miracle the whole house wasn't destroyed. Since then, it breaks down almost yearly. Last Nov. I spent $700 to fix it after it was unable to fire the burner. It needed to be reset constantly until it finally failed completely. Here it is less than 5 months later and guess what? It has the exact same failure. Rather than sinking any more money into this lemon, I'm thinking of ripping it out completely. I never want another piece of equipment from Carrier in my home again. Who builds a furnace that only works for about 2 years? For the cost of this furnace, I expected much more than just 7 years, as it was quite expensive.

"Carrier 58HDX"
Replaced my 14 year Carrier with the 95% efficient Carrier furnace, 58HDX last November. It makes way too much noise compared to my old system. The installer (ABC Corp) and Carrier Corp. both are stonewalling about the quality of the product. Carrier marketing material says that sound should be about 55 DB, but it is definitely higher. Have a written a letter to Carrier, installer, and contacted Carrier Corp Communications, VP also. Still waiting for them to diagnose the problem and fix it or give me my money back--both carrier and installer have 100% satisfaction guarantees.

"unsatisfied customer"
installed carrier furnace in 2006 we have nothing but problem , it cost us over $1000.00 bring to the attention of the Carrier supplier in Calgary & U.S. They said that the surge of power caused the damage, but there was no surge of power happened in the city. They refuged to compensate for the control panel. The customer service is not helpful at all. For over a year we deal with them and brought to their attention, but excuse and excuse and excuse.
