"Don't buy a Carrier"
Spent $6k on a new Carrier furnace and air conditioner. It's been a year and it still doesn't work properly. Have had 5 service calls so far. The Carrier units have not been properly tested for defects. The products are not ready for market and the consumer is left holding the bag. Never never purchase a Carier product.

"Not Reliable"
Bought the furnace and less than a year out of warranty the ventor motor has died. Carrier would not stand behind the product. For a "so-called" premium product (at least one with a premium price), I would have expected better reliability and at least a customer service department that gave a damn. Parts are very expensive - better to stay away from carrier and buy a product from a manufactuerer that is relaible.

"Nothing but trouble"
Had a Carrier 8000ts Weathermaker unit put in 7 years ago. It needed repairs 4 times already. It's becoming a yearly ritual. What a money pit.

"Lots of problems"
I got a new 58cta110 furnace in October 2005. I have taken care of it all according to the installers instructions (change the filters on a monthly bases). However, we are on our 3rd motor! Had to put a new one in July 2009 and then again in January of 2012. It just broke down again in April 2012, just 3 months from us getting a new motor! The tech that came by thinks (they haven't fixed it yet) it may be a circuit board this time and waiting for the parts to come in. However, we have been without heat for two days (it’s been around 4c here). I phoned Carrier customer service to let them know the problems that we are having and their main concern was letting me know that the 5 year limited warranty has expired and that was it. They didn’t care less that their product was not any good! I’ll never get a Carrier product again and strongly recommend that you don’t either.

"Too Noisy"
It works to create heat. But the inducer motor/fan creates a high pitched noise that is very stressful to me. There are times that I turn the unit off because I would rather sit in the cold than deal with the stress that the sound causes. The sound isn't that bad if I'm two floors up from the unit. My portable electric space heater has been getting a lot of use this winter.... So much for saving money with gas heat.

"Base 90 Gas Furnace Model: 58MCB - Defective Part"
We've had our Carrier Gas Furnace for 4 mths (albeit the base model), and already had a defective part (Pressure Switch) replaced. Apparently, the technician himself replaced about 40 of the these parts this past year, never mind how many the other technicians replaced. So, how long or how many more defective parts will be replaced before Carrier does something about this and probably other problems. And to think we replaced a 23 yr old Lennox furnace (no problems at all) because it was recommended that for resale purposes it's better to have a high efficiency furnace (whatever the series).

"Carrier Weather maker 9200= Junk"
This was supposed to be a top shelf furnace and yet it has needed a service call every year I have had it for some type of repair. When it is running it is efficient however when I have to pay for a $150 service call every year it makes it an expensive furnace to own. Lots of different issues have come up with this now my inducer fan has broken and it is a $500 part replacement so I am looking for a new furnace. Does someone want a rusty and unreliable furnace for a cheap price???

"I'm Cold"
It was in the house when I purchased the house. It isn't very old it was a selling point of the house -- the furnace came with all the bells and whistle. I have had the repairmen out 3 times for repairs I have even had them come out and do a maintenance check before winter. Now again I'm without heat. I will have to decide in the next 24 hours to repair or replace. It will depend on the cost to repair this time. In the last three years I could have bought a new one.

"Carbon Monoxide Poisoning"
I thought I was paying extra money for a guaranteed quality product. I was so wrong. It lasted only 11 years before the heat exchanger failed to operate and emitted carbon monoxide fumes into the house.

"Carrier = lemon"
Replaced 30 year old furnace with high end/ efficient carrier. Owned 10 years and have had to have repairman out as many times. Inducer motor issues, oxygen issues, something new each time. BTW: I can't even remember how many time my old unit had to be repaired -- maybe twice in thirty years!
