"buderus furnace"
I purchase a buderus gb 142-24 gas boiler in July 2007. Had to installed most of myself, no problem, the first two years it was great, then I had it converted to natural gas, still no problem. As the manual said, I clean the boiler, did it with mineral oil, the boiler does get coated with a white and hard packed partials. Mineral oil does not clean it completely, in between the fins are cooked on partials. Then I tried to order gaskets for the top and bottom covers. When the trouble really starts. Buderus will not sell any parts to the public, also it's hard to get them to give you technician information,I finally found a plumbing supply house that would sell them to me. $85.00 for the two gasket {WOW} then I just had to buy a ionization electrode $56.00. Look up a website to buy on line what a shock, there prices are even higher. Check the prices on buderus parts and you will find to better to buy a product that made in the USA.

i have had a Buderus furnace for 10 yrs...I have kept up with maintenance and have had a few problems with the original install, and regular service people not knowing about the furnace. Now the unit vibrates everytime it kicks on and even though the systems pipes have been bled and serviced again this past fall...each heat run thru my house vibrates....but the furnace itself sounds like you're riding in a 747. anyone Budrus service people in the Central NY area....? Auburn NY.HELP!!

"mistake"
Just got this furnace that was suppose to be the next best thing to sliced bread. Instead I got what sounds like a diesel engine on a cold day. It actually woke me up on a cold start even though it is two floors away. They blame it on not enough draft...never had that problem before. Sorry I went with this burner. Only recommend it to those I dislike!

Unit is compact and attractive. Seems to be excessivly noisy. Every few months (and in spite of service calls) the unit just shuts off. This means that when we leave home in the winter we need to arrange to have someone stop by the house every day just to check on it. Very frustrating.
