"Great Unit"
Installed last October. Has worked very well throughout the winter. Efficient and well priced. 2 stage heating saves money. Replaced old Trane Unit. Remember unit is only as good as the installation. Have been using the same Heating and a/c Company last 16 years.

"happy with reservations"
I installed this unit 2 years ago. I have a few questions for the manufacturing about it and can't seem to find a number that helps me in that regard. I'm having an issue with this thing losing low voltage power for no apparent reason. Comes right back on, (so far) , but I can't seem to get anyone at the manufacturer to get back to me. Otherwise, I like it, quiet, efficient. Does a real nice job keeping us comfortable.

"find a reputable installation and service company"
I have read many of the bad reviews and can only surmise that many of the complaints are due to poor installations and incompetent service technicians. I have install ICP products (Arcoaire. Heil, Comfortmaker, Tempstar) for over 16 years and have had few problems with them. I should mention for the guy recommending Carrier products, that Carrier owns icp. Most all companies have had a product on the market at one time that didn't live up to their expectations and most have made every effort to correct the problems. Lennox's Pulse furnace & Amana's htm furnace are just a couple examples of products the cost their manufactures millions in recall fees. When 90-plus furnaces first came on the market 20 plus years ago there were many innovative designs. Some should have been field tested longer, but everyone wanted to have a product available for the consumer. Some came back to haunt the manufacturers of them. Thankfully most all manufacturers have opted for a similar design with their products these days. Now if we can get the Mexicans to just make the components that most all manufacturers buy for their products better, we should have less dissatisfied costumers.

"So far. so good!!"
My buddy had the Arcoaire for a year and when he remodeled his home he had to install a different style. He sold me his for a bargain price. Him and I did the installation at my home 7 yrs ago and it has been a great gas furnace so far; efficient, cost effective and quiet with minimal maintenance. His brother owns a heating & cooling business and swears by Arcoaire.

"Still Very Happy after 12 years"
125k BTU, Single Speed, 80%. Bought unit in 1998 at closeout for $400. Found installer to plug it in. Has worked great ever since. Reliable, efficient, simple, needs minimal care. Have vacuumed out the burner compartment a couple times over the years, but almost no dust or slag. Burners still look new. Very happy with equipment. Not fancy, but just good heat. Only complaint is that the filter is difficult to replace, and doesn't fit well. Thinking about new furnace with $1,500 energy credit, but why??

"Happy"
I just moved in my house a year ago. This year the heat exchanger had a crack in it and now I have to replace the furnace. The Arcaire furnace that I have was manufactured in 1986. This unit lasted 24 years. I'm pretty sure whoever bought it would be happy to know that they made a good purchase and got every dollar out of it.

"Is it the equipment or the installer?"
I have never has any issue with our Arcoaire unit and not to criticize previous posters but it is rarely the equipment that fails, but rather the installation that is flawed. Most equipment on the market is comparable. It is the discount installer that compromises the integrity of the system. If you want to pay more for a brand, then that is your prerogative. We were also concerned about posts on the internet but our contractor set us straight and we have had zero problems.

"22 year old Arcoaire still working"
This particular Arcoaire is a stud. Never caused any trouble in 22 years. Had the ignitor replaced 4 years ago which is a normal service item. This unit was built by the "old" company prior to the 1999 buy out. Based on the other reviews, their quality seems to have gone down hill since I purchased this one in 1988. Unfortunately, the heat exchanger has finally begun to form cracks and I'm going to have to replace it soon. Too bad, seems like it is easy to select a poor quality furnace these days...

"Arcoaire--You hit a homerun"
Installed a 150,000 btu/hr input 80% efficiency furnace. It is 13 months old and no problems. This is a single stage unit---felt the more high efficiency units, variable speed and/or two stage lends itself to more problem---simple unit that gives great heat and no problems to speak of---would recommend to anyone.

"Love It"
I have read the other reviews and do not understand the disdain. I hit the internet to see how this company was doing (8 years later) as I was so pleased with the product. We have not had a single problem, our gas bills are very low and the comfort and reliability is excellent. I did install work for a couple of years and was initially impressed with the thicker metal and better appearance of the furnace in general. Maybe we got lucky??? Works for me.
