"I am very happy with my American Standard Gold ZM"
The new furnace reduced temperature swings and helped to lower my heating bills by 47%. Thanks to the 2 stage heating, running at energy- saving 65 percent capacity more than 80 percent of the time, 97 % efficiency. I do agree it can be the installer who messes up. The company I hired showed me several things the installer from the old furnace did totally wrong. They fixed it all at no extra costs. For example the fresh air intake was too close to the exhaust and the old furnace sucked in a mixture of pollutant with oxygen. That caused the body inside the old furnace to roost and deteriorate. The heat has never been more comfortable than now with my 2-stage Gold ZM furnace.

"American Standard 96% high efficient furnace"
I installed an American Standard two stages variable speed furnace in May 2006. It has been a reliable and efficient unit in the six years it has been in operation in my home. The furnace motor is very quiet and the heat distribute very evenly to my house. It solves some of my cold spots that I have on my old furnace.

"American Standard Freedom 90: Reliable and Efficient"
I installed an American Standard Freedom 90 Single Stage gas forced air furnace along with the American Standard Allegiance 11 central air conditioner in May 2003. It has been a reliable and efficient unit in the eight years it has been in operation in my home. The furnace offers 92% efficiency and heats a 1080 square foot, 3 bedroom 1955-built ranch house in Duluth, Minnesota for under $200 per month even in the middle of winter. The first year after, I saw a 39% reduction in my gas bill from the winter before, so it's an ideal choice to upgrade if you have an older furnace. The coil for the Allegiance 11 central air unit fits in the plenum above the Freedom 90 furnace; with the entire system mated to a programmable thermostat, it is easy to switch from heating in winter to cooling in summer. Operation is quiet. The only drawback is the filter; it takes a 14x25 filter, which does not seem to be a common, easy to find size. In eight years, it has been very reliable. I have had only one service call, when it was six years old at the beginning of the 2009-10 heating season, to replace the valve that opens when it starts to allow gas to come from the gas supply into the furnace. The repair was done by a local contractor that specializes in the American Standard brand and was fixed right the first time. The American Standard brand is one I'd buy again, and I have recommended it to friends. It has offered nearly flawless operation and saved me a significant amount of money over the last eight years.

"The Workhorse in the Basement"
This furnace has been in this house since it was built int he 1950s. My family first moved into this house in 1983, and it's been chugging along just fine since. Wow, it's been 28 years we've technically owned the furnace. We love how it does it's job. It keeps the house nice and warm and never breaks. It's even green, my favorite color! It's in an awkward spot in the middle of the basement, however. But we've been here for so long that we got used to it. Also, it scared the kids when they were younger. There was this giant dusty, fiery dragon in the basement! It hasn't broken. It just keeps working. I'd definitely recommend the brand American Standard to a friend. I don't think you can still get this model though. It is about 60 years old. I'm sure the gas heating technology has improved since then.

"I'm a very satified customer"
I wanted someone to be aware that my furance was installed november 1964, and is still working well, I've only had minor problems with it over 46 years, each time I've had the local gas company come out they tell me that it's a good furance, and the quality from back then was better than today, just wanted to give credit, where credit was due. I don't have the complaints that the others do, and had thought that I'd replace it with another american standard

"Exceptional Upgrade and Performance"
I purchased the Fredom 94 Comfort R furnace with variable speed blower and modulating burner. I am extremely impressed with how quiet it runs and how little the temperature varies in the house. It is so quiet you usually don't even know it is running. It was worth every extra cent to upgrade to this model. In addition, in installed the communicating module for the model. It is great for the traveler and will call your cell phone and your service company if temperatures or humidity levels fall outside the thresholds you set. It also comes with the Comfort Control thermostat, which also measures and displays outside temperatures and provides a higher rate of burn to heat the house if the outside temperature falls below the threshold. I never write reviews but was compelled but the superb performance of the system.

Review:
"Unit works great"
I had my 20yr old Amana unit replaced with an American Standard split system 2 years ago and it's been working great. It's quiet and efficient. Please note that very little can go wrong with a brand new unit unless the mechanical contractor that put it in did a poor job. I work for a mechanical contractor myself and we install many brands, however the most preferred ones by our customers are AS and Carrier, that's why I decided to go for AS myself. It is also important to do your part of preventive maintenance and not wait until the unit breaks. There are so many people out there who don't even know how to change a filter and when; then 6 months down the road the problems start. Get a clue first and then call the equipment piece of crap. May be by starting to read that manual for once!

"40 years still going strong"
Our house has an American Standard gas furnance and AC.We have never had a service call on it and has never failed to work. It was installed in May 1970. Thinking of replacing because it can't last forever and is AFUE 75%.

"Best Decision"
It's all about the installer, not the furnace. This furnace has worked like a champ since installed 2 years ago. Those who give bad reviews, you are blaming the wrong company. It's your installer. That's the issue. I have a friend and a neighbor who both installed the same system I installed, Freedom 95 Comfort-R™ Variable Speed, Three Stage Communicating Furnace. They also have had no issues. It's the installer. People, do your research.
