"get the extended warranty"
Furnace works well as does the Acculean (Aprilaire) air cleaner that was installed at the same time. After 4 years the computer control board died and the replacement cost was over $500 plus the cost for the diagnostic trip by the tech and the second trip out to install the new controller. It was replaced under the 5-year parts warranty but we were still out the cost for the two service calls. It would have been a good idea to pay for the extended warranty with a part that when it dies will cost $800 to repair. With a 5-year warranty we may end up replacing the board another 2-3 times during the life of the furnace. The dealer that sold us the furnace and installed it turned out to be the one company in our area that provides the worst service after the sale.

"I would buy a vent-less gas heater for back up"
Personally if you have natural gas available I would buy a vent-less gas heater for back up. These units do not need electric for the flame so if you lose power you will still have heat and you can buy a new one for a couple hundred bucks.

All ways keep in mind that the unit is as good as the person repairing it. Just because joe mechanic says a part is bad does not necessarily mean it's bad, the tech needs to make money and secure his job, don't take everyone just on their word.

Just purchased auh2b080a9v3 Not installed yet but being a MFG audiotr at the plant where we make this furnace i have to say the people there do take pride in there work and it is made in america. i KNOW I will be satisfifed after in install

"Works fine, nothing special"
This furnace has worked ok. I wouldn't give it high marks because we go through a lot of oil and I think part of that is because the furnace isn't very fuel efficient. We haven't had any major issues but I would have preferred a unit that performed better. This one is very underwhelming.

I have a 30 yr. old Gibson Furnace that has done me well and I am looking to replace for a more efficient model.
